Where did you position your doppler to get hb? + ebay reccomendation ***UPDATED***

Hey girls i came across this thread and found it very interesting it was somthing that one of the ladies said on here about your own heartbeat being under 100

I have one of thesa dopp things mine shows the heart that flashers in the corner and how many beats etc

I got this when i was i was 10wks pregnant with the twins ,
when i was waiting for it to be delivered i went for my scan and sadley they told me bad news but i went home convinced they was making a mistake and when i got there my parcel with the doppler was at home so i used it and i got a heart beat of 162 then would change to 163 what does this mean ,

The ladie at the hospital said she used a heat detector that checks for heart beat and was showing nothing but this doppler of mine was showing a heart beat of 162 thn 163
and if are heart beat should be under 100 then what was this ???
I dont know what to think now , Can someone find out what are heartbeat should be on thesa things please,

Im really sorry to read this. Did you have an ultrasound scan which resulted in the lady telling you the news? Im no expert at all with this but i thought I was listening to my babys heart beat for weeks until I had my scan which the heartbeat sounded different to what i had been listening to. When you find the heart beat again check your pulse as i found this the easiest way of recognising it as mine or not. could you post a recording of the sound on here? or listen to the ladys recording that has posted hers on here and compare yours with hers??

Sometimes the heartrate flashes up real high ...But if you wait a few Mins will dropdramaticly to the 70s 80s this is your heartrate hun ..
So sorry for your loss , But as cruel as theese machines can be i think thats whats happened ,As when i get mine out and put gel on my tummy it flashes up at 145 then 140 i know its not babies heartrate as its no where near it at the time.
Then when i do find heartrate it stays , For well as long as i listen lol .
You can normally hear the babies heartrate different to yours as the sound is a hell of alot faster and sounds a different kind of sound . xxxxxxxx .

Luckily it's fairly easy to check your own heart rate - feel your pulse in your inner wrist (at the thumb side) and count the beats for 10 seconds then multiply by 6. If your own HR was 160, the likelihood is that you would feel dizzy and faint - your heart rate has to be low enough for the heart to fill up enough with blood for it to be pumped out. If your heart rate is too fast, blood is pumped inefficiently and you feel dizzy and yuk - not enough oxygen getting to the brain. Babies in utero have much faster heart rates e.g. 140 - 180. Machinery, whether home doppler or hospital is subject to mechanical failure and human error - I'm very sorry for your loss (by your signature it looks like you have suffered a loss) - this must have stirred up a lot of emotions. I hope you can get the answers you need from your healthcare team

Hi Hun I lost my twin girls in feb hun and i was told this by scan at 10wks
but had this doppler i used the day i was told i lost my girls and was getting the higher h/b of 162 i was concerned because i read a post on here that our h/b should be not over 100 i was just concerned about this

I found the heartbeat this morning, was so surreal but am over the moon, also had midwife appointment today.. she said try not to use it very much as she doesnt think that babies like it very much as when they get bigger they always try and kick it away.

This so sounded like when i done my doppler after being told bad news at my 10wk scan the same day i went home and found the doppler machine which i had bought on the net in the post , So i used it and got this exact noise as fast and was 162/3

I did phone the nurse the following day demanding another scan after having heard this on doppler so i had a scan before i went down to have babies removed and when she did scan she said still the same and she put the heat thing over it and said it was suppose to change red when there was blood flow i pointed out red and she said that was just my blood flow
I also asked her for another picture after she done the scan and she ripped off the underneith bit of the scan picture which is the bit where the measurments are printed

It was not as if it was the only photo printed as she printed about 7 quite a few for the folder ........

Do you agree with me girls that the reason she done this was because the last scan picture i had got a few days before i could see baby measurements on and the one she took babys measurements had gone up ...
and she done this so i would not say there is a mistake why is baby still growing kind of thing

I cant now its to late as far as i was awear and still awear i lost my twins in
in feb buried them in march so i will never know now

You do hear of thesa things happing with thesa scans dont you
but i can honestly say i did not see what i saw 2wks before on scan and that was the hb ......

Just wish now i had a second opinon on a different machine

awe , im sorry hun , my dhs cousins had alot of bleeding with her last pregnancy and they told her it was a molar pregnancy and wanted to give her a dnc she told them no and went home and prayed , she ended up having a healthy baby boy , the only thing wrong with him is his fingers and toes are webbed .
