Hi ladies I just wondered if you'd mind sharing where you got your inspiration for your baby girl names? We're team yellow but have 2 boys already so I'm assuming we're expecting our third boy. We've already got a boys name sorted but I have no inspiration at all for a girls name. Im taking this as another sign that were having another boy.The two names we had picked out for our last two I'm not so keen on anymore plus I'm a teacher so lots of names I associate with school children and wouldn't use.

Would you please share where your name ideas originated from please - family, books, celebs etc. there might be somewhere I've forgotten to look! Thanks in advance :flower:

Generally we look to books we love. Dh and I are both teachers as well so we know your pain! Haha!

Little girlie coming in June will is Evie Drew Arya. To be completely honest Evie came from The Mummy. The movie with Brendan Fraser. She is his wife in the movie. I just heard the name and loved it immediately. Drew is a name my husband loves. Arya is from the Game of Thrones books. We both love this name but didn't want to use it as a first name because we're worried it will be too popular.

Good luck coming up with a name! We had so much trouble this time!

We picked Elise/ Elyse. Still unsure of how to spell it.
I've always loved the song Fur Elyse and the name has always been in my head. It's a plus that H and i don't know anyone with the name.

Btw, I love Arya. It was a top pick for us!

Dh and I love Elsa too but can't use it because of Frozen. :(

Elise is beautiful!

My husband and I are really big movie buffs. So, most of the names we like are movie related. Right now we really love the name Briony from Atonement. Ridley is also top on our list. My husband is a huge ALIENS movie fan, so to him Ridley sounds like Ripley, who is the main character in the movies. Ridley Scott also directed the movie so the inspiration tied into there.
As far as middle names go, we are looking into something Beatles inspired. My dad passed away a few years ago and loved the Beatles. So, we are trying to come up with a Beatles inspired name in memory of him. Leaning toward Lucy or Lennon.

That's an awesome idea! My mom loves The Beatles too, particularly Paul McCartney. I guess his "real name" is James Paul so my mom kept pushing for me to name my son Jamie Paul (but I didn't). Lucy & Lennon are both cool choices!!

My pregnant co-worker found that she could view all the babies born at our local hospital - there are pics of each baby and the baby's 1st and middle name posted on the hospital website. She has been browsing those for inspiration. I think sometimes seeing a cute baby associated with the name, makes the name more enticing. I also have some photographers on my FB - and every time they post a beautiful baby that says something like "Vivienne, 12 days new!" it makes my heart swoon! I swear I fall in love with the name just seeing it with the stunning photos!

We're using the name Cordelia, got it from the film 'the happiest millionaire' which I loved when I was younger.

Movies, books and family trees are a great place to start. Or something that is important to you or interests you. For example, if you're into mythology you could find mythological names, etc.
xx

Rather boringly our names were from name books for DS1 and DS2 was because of a little boy we met on holiday when we were trying for DS1. We were also keen to have something Spanish. Middle names were all family names

DH is a sports coach so boys names were a nightmare.

I did love the nameberry site for inspiration too. Our girls names were Italian / Spanish that we just heard and loved

We named our cat Layla after the Eric Clapton song. :) is there a song you love?
