Does anyone else have this problem?

When I was growing up there was always a perfect corner of the living room for the tree...

Now, the only place is up against the wall - in the middle of the wall, so no corner, straight in front of you as you open the living room door..it's ok, but just not perfect grrrrrrrrrr

I'd love to use a corner but I just don't see how I could rearrange my living room.. it's so crowded.. grrr

wish i had a bay window! Ours just goes in a corner but we have to swap the 2 seater and 3 seater sofas around to make space haha

I have the same problem. Each year it is in a different place because i haven't found the 'right' spot. Im not sure which side of the fireplace to have it this year. It looks pretty on the left but there isnt much space in the corner between the fireplace and the wall.

My house is so full think I'll need to build an extension lol

Where we used to live we had a separate living room and we had the perfect spot in the corner. Now that we have moved we have a living room/diner and a room off of the dining room which is open plan. Now I never know where to put the tree so I put up 3  1 in the front room bit, 1 in the dining room bit and another just inside the other room lol. The kids love it. The DH hates it :dohh: but who cares it's Christmas :happydance::happydance::happydance:

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment and I have no clue where I'm going to fit it this year :nope:

I have to move the footstool to a different inconvenient place to put my Xmas tree in the corner (it is a corner tree so has to be in a corner), but my Christmas tree comes first lol!!

I'm currently planning where to put ours,I had a perfect corner for it last year, but dean thinks its bad luck as harvey was so ill and refuses to have it there again.xx

To be honest my worry is the girls and the safety issue- they will be 18 months old and I know they will be pulling at the tree and decorations on it- has anyone else got any ideas on this with toddlers- what are your plans? x

I know this sounds sad but when we first moved into our new place in January I was already eyeing up the tree corner and have kept it clear (ish) just got a lamp and bean bag there.

It's going to be right next to the smaller window in the living room, I'm that obsessed that back in February when we decided to get blinds fitted I got the toggles fitted on the left hand side because when the tree was going to be their I wouldnt be able to open then blinds without stretching and knocking the tree over :haha:

I had the perfect location under the stairs looked gorgeous now this is where the pram will go. Move over dog and take your bed with you the tree will be taking up temporary residence in your space!

thanks for all the replies ladies... glad I'm not the only one!!

Have been eyeing up my living room from all angles.. just can't see the 'right' spot! grr!

I think I may remove the furniture...put the tree up and work around it  xx

We have a bay window. Our tree went in it last year, but we have a MASSIVE seven foot tree that is just as big around as it is tall

It blocked out all the light, plus it needs to stand on a coffee table so Tegan can't play with it. So all in all there was 9 feet worth of tree in our window, no daylight, and I couldn't actually reach around it to close the curtains so it was so cold! I have no idea where it will go this year :(

Mine goes in front of the front window.

May have a change this year but i love walking past peoples homes and seeing trees in the windows.

V xx

We put our tree in the living room in the corner by the sofa. Same spot every year. We're kinda boring.

Ours will go in front of the bay window, nice and tall :) i am just hoping LO wont pull it over haha x

We have this problem. Our room is a weird shape with lots of nooks and crannies but putting it in those would mean blocking a cupboard and the other makes access to the kitchen difficult - so we used to have to get a narrow tree so we could still walk out there.

Last year we put our first ever real tree in the window - we had to move our chair out a little bit so whoever was sitting in it could still see the telly in the opposite corner, but it was doable so I think we'll just do that again this year.

Hopefully by next year we will have moved but I'm not hopeful that it will actually happen.

And me mine was infront of my window last year too slightly blocking the tele from one sofa but the only corner that's free it would just be hidden and I wanted people to be able to see it - not sure who I was thinking of as I live in a first floor apt and the block opposite was just being built :haha:

How funny. I was just thinking this!!!

I now have a computer since my laptop gave up and now I havent a clue where I am going to put it as the computer is where the tree would normally go
