Hey ladies, I see a lot of threads about Braxton hicks but to my knowledge ive never experienced any. I've had light period pains occasionally over last couple weeks but that's it. Part of me wishes I did have them so I'd get some indication of what light contractions may feel like.. But by the looks of things when baby decides to come I think any contractions will come as a bit of a suprise! Lol

me neither, was expecting to get loads but only had a couple of twinges! x

Glad to see I'm not only one. Frustrating though - Im not as far as you two but I just wish I'd feel something! Lol x

I thought I'd of at least felt something I've not had any twinges or nothing I think my little one is wanting to stop where he is :( but I want him out now lol xxx

I havent! At my ante natal class this week the teacher played a cd that had a foghorn going off for the length of a contraction and silence for the gap in between. When the foghorn went off we got into positions to help up cope with the pain then in the silence we got back to our seats and chatted.
She said that everyone is different but in general that is how a contraction will be, you can laugh and chat in between then you'll have the teeth gritting contraction (it seemed like forever!!) lol. x

I didnt have any with my first and with this one I thought I had one the other day, stopped me in my tracks but nothing since.

I haven't yet. I had a few last time near the very very end.

Nope nothing yet.. that I know of anyway. Like you a few period pains but thats it! Oh and not had any leaking boobs either!! x

Ooooh was is that photo add thing on my signature?? Where did that come from??

I'm not sure. I thought I had had some but nothing I could say were 100% braxton hicks. Could have just been gas pains or a slightly upset tummy as it felt pretty much like the pains you get when you have diarrhea.

i've had no pains at all. Ocasionally my belly will go really hard and into a ball, but that was more around 32weeks ish. Now.. nothing. :/

See, that's what's confusing me. Because I've had the pains/pressure, but haven't noticed my tummy going hard at all. So not sure I can confidently say that they were braxton hicks.

Hi all. Im 38 weeks and I had to go hosp today to get monitored as had a bit of blood yesterday ( but not stringy and was bright red) and baby had not moved as much, but everythings fine.........

BUT thought id let you know that when being monitored it showed i had 1 contraction ( not much in an hr but hey) and i could hardly feel it if at all. Just felt like baby was pushing bum or something out in centre of tummy! SO, you might find you've had them since 20 weeks but if you have strong stomach muscles ( i was told i do) then you probably wont feel them! I felt quite pleased i'd had one ( just a BH i guess) cuz atleast i know theyre happening and im just not aware of them, and it went up to 50% which i think is quite high so hoping i might tolerate the real labour ones fairly ok xxx

I call shenanigans!
I never had BH's.
When I went into active labor my contractions were one on top of the other with one starting while I was still in the middle of the previous. Thank god for drugs! :D

LOL you wally, you don't get period pains when you're pregnant, that prob was braxton hicks! :dohh:

They can be ever so mild, and sometimes not so mild.
I had them the other day and they came so regular that I was convinced I had gone into labour, but usually they are really mild, like period pains :haha:

hi not read all the posts but may have already been said - you could be having them without noticing - only reason i know is because today i had bubbas heart monitored and the graph thing was showing up that i was having bh contractions and i didnt even know!! lol

I never experienced any kind of pain/braxton either - felt I missed out!:flower:

They arent very nice, not painful but very uncomfortable the kind of feeling where you dont know what to do with yourself wether to sit down or stand up. Im getting more and more they dont last for very long atm though x
