I've watched a lot of "A Baby Story" on TLC and it seems like a lot of the moms on that show have a cavalry with them....hubby, kids, grandparents, siblings, etc. I don't think I'll be doing that. My sister didn't either...it was just me, her oh, and bf. It seemed crowded already with the OB, OB nurse, Pediatrician, and Ped. Nurse...lol.

I remember though that a few family members seemed a little jilted at not being allowed to be there. I just want my OH, and my friend (also doula). If my mom comes out I will probably let her too...but I'm not sure. I'm definitely not taping it!

What is everyone's else thoughts/opinions?

PS: I'm not against making it a big family affair...i would just be uncomfortable on a personal level.

In england they like to keep the number as low as possible, you dont often see more than two/three people in the delivery suite. Im just having my mum and my OH... have who you want to have dont worry about hurting peoples feelings its YOUR baby and YOUR birth experience xxx

And no theres no way I am taping it!

My mum died when I was 13 unfortunately, she would most definately been with me otherwise .. but im very close to her sister so im having my other half and my auntie Angie :)

Im in Northern Ireland so the limit is 2 birthing partners .. but not sure I personally would be comfortable making it a family thing anyways so pretty glad its limited at 2 lol !!!

Also it will most definately NOT be being taped lol xxx

ill just be having OH with me, he was fantastic last time i was in labour. hes deffinitely all the support i need.
and theres not a chance of me wanting to film it lol x

Just hubby and me. There is no way I would want anyone else there, not even my mum. It's our baby so to me it's only natural to have just the two of us there and my hubby was a complete legend when I was in labour with my son. I didn't need or want anyone else. He was my best cheerleader and protector that day.

Also, absolutely no way am I taping it. That is not a film I would EVER want to watch again.

x

Im a daughter of 5 and my baby is going to be the 10th grandchild so my mum has been at ALOT of labours so she will DEFFINATLY be there, infact i think ill end up listening more to her than the midwife haha. Also my partner who is extremly excited as its our first baby.
But there will be certainly no filming but i would like some pictures taken through the labour, as iv seem some very wonderful slide shows done which would be lovly to keep. xxx

it just be myself and my husband at the birth i wouldnt want anyone else there
i defo wont be taping it..not that i saying i wouldnt want to see it again as it an amazing thing birth bt nah i rather just conitrate on giving birth that be on camera lol

.mummy.2.be. a slideshow is a great idea...and not TMI for friends and family! :) Plus...no one can hear me cussing on a photo slide show...haha. I tend to get a trucker's grammar during intense pain.

Either just my mum, or nobody :p I can't have my husband there as he won't be back from Afghanistan :( SO I might indeed tape it, or bits of it (and edit tastefully!!!) for him.

wish you all the best with your arrival :hugs: xxx

OH if he makes it back in time otherwise the midwives and a doula if i can find one nearby

In the UK they keep the number of people in the delivery suite a minimum! About 2 max I think! I'll be having my mum and my OH! Don't think I could do it without her! OH doesn't want to be on his own either so works all ways :)!! And no I won't be taping it lol!! X

My oh and my sister who was with me for my other 2 babies and I wont be taping it either lol xxx

I'm even thinking of kicking my bf out- last time he ended up crying and I had to comfort him, lol.

Just my OH, he was great last time. No way do I want anyone else in with me, other than MW!

We won't tape it but I will probably get OH to tape a little bit quite soon after the birth as I would love to have this of my son's arrival xx

Just me and OH will be there. My Mum asked to be there but I won't be comfortable with that. Defo won't be no filming either! I might let OH take pictures not long after birth though.

i'm planning to have my mum and OH when I deliver.
We won't tape the actual delivery, but i want to record our first meeting with the baby :) we'll see how it goes

I'll just have my hubby there, like last time. He was really amazing last time so thats all I need.

On the recording front, labour/birth can be so unpredictibe so I wouldn't want any recording going on. I guess having pictures taken is a different story but its not for me. The mw took pictures for us last time straight afterwards when I was holding my daughter and i'm glad I have those but they're just for me, hubby and LO when she's older as there is so much blood everywhere!!
