who woulda thought that limb buds would be so exciting!

I was checking on the developmental status of my little bean and saw, if things are going as planned, bean grew some limb buds this week! I was caught unprepared by the wave of excitement that overcame me .

It was my first actual feeling of excitement, untouched by the nervousness and cautiousness that has infused my pregnancy after 5+ years TTC.

It feels good to be joyful, if only in this moment .

LTTC and/or losses can make it hard to embrace the excitement, but I am going to try to run with any happy feelings I have because I know my cautious feelings will come back

I was surprised that I cared about limb buds, but apparently I do!

I am right there with you! I was SO excited to see there was actually a baby in there with a HB at my 6 week scan that I cried, them I've been wanting to cry while reading the "week by week" guides of how the little peanut is growing. Then, I was overwhelmed at the 9 week scan this past Monday, seeing there's actually a BABY in there! It's amazing how much they look like a baby in the very short 9 weeks!! (7 gestational, actually)

oooh, I can't wait for a scan! I don't know when though, because my next dr. appt is in two weeks but I don't think it's a scan because they didn't tell me to drink water.

If limb buds got me this worked up I am sure a heartbeat will cause near hysteria!

Brilliant pictures aren't they!! I do try and resist looking at the weeks beyond! I try and ration myself to only looking one week ahead!! Lol

If you get a scan this early, it would be transvaginal, so they wouldn't ask you to drink water for that. I'd ask for one, it puts your mind at ease better than ANYTHING else can. I figured that out quickly! Happy and healthy 9 months to all.

Yep, having your first scan is an amazing, if nerve wracking, experience.

My little one was there, being all photogenic for the scan and of course getting me worried because s/he wasn't really moving. There was a good heartbeat though and I'm sure the nurse would have said if the lack of movement was anything to worry about.

2 days later I'm still clinging onto the feeling of seeing that heartbeat to remind myself that there is a little life inside me
