what was your experience?
and what was your cervix like before induction?
and how long did the induction last until you gave birth?

i went 15 days over with my first my cervix hadnt done anything had 2 pesserys(sp) one on a thursday one on the friday got my waters broke at 10pm had oxitocin(sp) on the friday had my dd at 8.13am on the saturday but i didnt feel any pain till i was about 5-6cms and i went from 7cms to 10cms in about 2 hours so being induced isnt as scary as it sounds. oh i had 3 sweeps done before all that :) xx

I was induced, can't remember what my cervix was like, but had two sweeps, went in on thurs, had two pessarys, the drip, had my waters broken, then finally had her on Saturday... God I hope I don't have to go through it again! But it makes no difference in the end because you have an amazon child to hold :) x

I was induced with my 1st baby i had 2 attempts at sweeps but my cervix was still too far back and closed for them to do anything.

I was induced on Tuesday 19th feb 2008 .... 1st contraction at 3.30pm
I had my beautiful boy on 20th Feb 2008 at 5.55pm xx

Was a long slow labour but he was a back to back labour too which along with being induced made it even more slow/difficult

Really hoping i will be able to go into labour naturally this time around withiut needing to be induced x

i was induced at 14 days over. my cervix was hard and closed really tight.
it took two pessaries to induce me. one at 11am. the next at 6pm. my waters then broke at midnight and i had jake at 2pm the next day. :)

Me. It was not at ALL what I wanted, but, that being said, it wasn't bad. I was about two weeks over (give or take a few days...I stopped counting at 40 weeks :haha:), and I was dilated like 2 cm, with no effacement at all. I came in on the night of Sept. 4th, and they put in the cervical insert and pitocin IV right away. Well, the insert came out at about 2 am, and I still wasn't dilated hardly at all, so they upped the pitocin. They continued upping the pitocin until about 10:30 that morning, when my water finally broke. About 30 minutes later, I started having contractions. They got very painful very fast, but it wasn't really so bad that I felt like I needed medication. Then at about noon, they got really bad - I kept begging the nurse to check me, and telling her that I needed to push. She told me I was imagining it :)growlmad:) and that LO's heart rate was rising so she was going to give me stadol in my IV. I objected, but she did it anyway, only to check me about two minutes later and find that she could feel LO's head, and I was 100% ready to deliver. :dohh: DD was born at 12:18, so about an hour and a half after my water broke.

I was induced with my first at 38 weeks due to pre eclampsia. I was 2cms dilated so they went ahead and broke my waters straight away. I was then put on the hormone drip to increase contractions and given an epidural in an attempt to lower my blood pressure as it was making babys hb irratic. When it came to pushing his head kept going back up after each push so I had an epesiotomy and they tried the vontouse which didnt work so went for the forceps. It sounds quite horrible but it really wasnt, the recovery was pretty easy too :) It was 12 hours start to finish (from waters being broken) but the active labour was 5 hours 27 minutes xx

I was induced at 38 weeks with my 1st pregnancy after my water broke spontaneously. I had not dilated or anything. Admitted into hospital at 12 pm day before St. Patricks day and had son on St. Patricks day at 1pm. Very textbook delivery and went well.

I was induced at 39 weeks for no real reason besides impatience.

I was far enough dilated for a sweep to be done... I'm thinking I was at like a 2, but I honestly can't remember!

I was started on the pitocin drip at 4pm-ish and delivered my son at 7:27am the next morning. They broke my waters when I was around 5cm... I think that was around 9-9:30, and I had an epidural put in at around 11, and then slept until I woke up feeling like I needed to poo at around 6:30.

Very easy labor, really. No problems whatsoever, and if I have to repeat it with this one, I will. I just would rather spend some of my labor not hooked up to an IV tree. :haha: Makes it hard to move around.

I was induced with my first one at 38 weeks due to being so little and the baby being so big, dr was afraid my hips wouldnt widen enough. Anyhow, I was 1cm when I went to the hospital at 6am that day for my induction, I had a long miserable labor and did not have the baby until 10 am the next morning....that was just my expereince though. Not all induction stories are bad.

Hey hun, you still not had that baby I see?

I was induced with my first at 10 days over I went in at 5pm for first pessary, cervix was closed but 'nice and soft' if I rememeber rightly. Started getting pains at 8pm, waters broke at midnight and I was 4cm then. My birth partners came in at 1.30ish and I had to be monitored as they couldnt get a good trace on baby, by 1pm the following day (14hrs from start and 11 days late) I got to 10cm but Luke was stuck (I have a narrow pelvis and he was 8lb 9oz) so i had emergency section xx

I was induced at 41 weeks. My cervix was 1 cm dilated but high and hard. I went in one evening and had two rounds of cytotec one at 9pm and one at 1am. Then I had pitocin started at 6am. I dilated to 3 centimeters by 8am and had my waters broken. 8 hours later (still on pitocin) I had not progressed at all and baby had been having dips in hr all day so ended up with a c-section. Not what I expected to happen at all, but my baby is so precious I am glad he is here healthy and safe.

I was induced 9 days over, had had 3 sweeps one the day before being induced! I was 3cm dilated when I was induced!?!? Had one pessary was in established labour for 1 1/2 hours and pushed for 20 mins! Lasted on 2 paracetamol as it all went so quick!

Think I was lucky tho but I loved my labour! That's what made me want another!!! x

I was induced with my first after my water broke (but I wasn't going into labor). I was put on pitocin at about 11pm and my son was born at about 9 the next morning. At my doctor appointment a few days before, I was 1cm dialated but my cervix was "favorable."

I was also induced with my second. I was 1-2cm dialated, and they gave me Cervidil at 6pm. At 6am they started the pitocin and my daughter was born at 8:49am. My whole labor lasted under 3 hours.

So, neither of my experiences with being induced were bad. :flower:

I was induced at 40 + 6. I was 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I didn't need a foley induction or cervidil because my cervix was favorable enough. They started pitocin at 9 am and had my little guy at 10:44 pm.

my cervix she could fit a finger in and she said it was favourable but still high and far back, would induction be long for me?
