If you mount a TV to the wall yourself, it voids the insurance and your contents insurance will not cover it if it falls. :flower: Just a tip. I would contact the store where you bought it and ask if they have an installer that will come out and do it or find someone that's qualified to do it.

We have out 42 inch tv mounted on the fire breast, would never have it any other way now. Hubby used a bracket from John lewis but as long as it covers your size tv youl be fine...id get it from a proper shop mind, just so you know your getting one that will hold. :)

Oh he just said it was about £45, i think it was much cheaper then Currys but id of said if we are bargain hunters and ours was +£40 then an £11.11 will probably not be as good. Its one of those risky purchases i guess.

  9. some of the brackets i've seen have been like £100+
i'd expect it to be made out of platinum or something.

is it brick behind the plaster? or made of a wood and plaster board frame? If its solid brick it should be fine as long as you get the correct raw plugs and correct bracket :D

ps not all electrical cables run vertically as DH found out when he tried to blow himself up when trunking in the cables!!! :laugh2:

I have mine up on the wall and the bracket was £80 from Argos, but I have to say I hate it being up on the wall I can't wait to move all the living room around and buy some new couches and will be getting a stand for the TV.

Ours will have a cabinet under it like this, with the Xbox and Sky Box in then the wires can either trail up the wall like on this pic (if you look closely)

Or you can have them hidden.. :)
