I keep seeing threads that people have started, and after only 10-15 minutes they have posted 2 or 3 more times on their own post saying things like "Anything BUT R&R?!" or "15 views and NO replies?!"

I don't get it. Why get SO mad at people on the internet for not responding to your thread? Obviously they have nothing to say. I R&R ALL THE TIME simply because I read through the thread, and had nothing to contribute. It's silly IMO to have to comment to say that you have nothing to say just so someone won't overreact about no one replying.

i agree 100%, people take it personally. sometimes one just hasnt got any worthwhile advice and that should be accepted!

Because there will always be someone that gets annoyed no matter what you do weither you read and run without posting anything, post "dont mean to read and run but no advice", post advice thats not any use, post honest views, dont view it at all, repeat what others have said, try to help, have too many quotes in your reply, agree with this view or that view, have too many views or no view at all there will always be someone that gets annoyed or has a problem with it.
Its just the way of the world and you cant win.

Sometimes I think it's a mixture of fear and frustration. I know that when I've posted something because I'm upset or worried that I'm constantly checking for replies. I really need someone to post. So I can imagine being in that situation and feeling stressed because no one has replied.

Also sometimes posts go up so fast your post can be 2/3 down the page and getting ignored so it is worth 'bumping'.

That being said I have to admit that I often read and run. I try not to do this when someone has 0 replies, however I would rather say nothing then give bad advice. To avoid this I try to hover over threads and read the little description before I open them so that I have a good idea in advance if I'll have anything useful to contribute. However sometimes people don't include enough information or the thread just isn't what you thought it would be. So when I read and run I'm not trying to cause offence, I just don't know what to say.

the age old question

some people only title their thread "help!" so people will click to see if they can offer help but realize they can't so rather than post something unhelpful they r&r

also don't guest views count as a view? (someone correct me if i'm wrong) so they can't post they can only r&r but i bet the people moaning about it don't think of that

I do R+R cause I have nothing to say but in posts where some one is upset a simple :hugs: is better than not saying nothing. I have posted threads and had a few views before some one replies and it does annoy me lol but that's because I'll be asking for advice on something that is bothering me and I get in such a worried state I cant eat or enjoy anything until it is solved even when it's out of my hands. If ppl R+R on just a random general chatter post it wouldn't bother me.

I think getting annoyed at people reading and running is silly really. Sometimes people don't have anything to say, if it's really important you can just keep bumping it and someone will reply eventually. It's only the Internet

If everyone replied to every thread they looked at bnb would be full to the brim with "sorry didn't want to rnr" posts and it wouldn't be fun anymore.

i agree ....people need to chill out LOL.......... if anything is that much of emergency then would you not call someone for advice or google???

I dont care if i get 5, 10, 50 or ZERO replies on my threads and i dont even bother looking at how many have viewed it or care if people read and run x

maybe im just very chilled out, but i dont care if i have 1000 views and no replies! if people have nothing to contribute then what does it matter

haha I posted a thread in Baby club and it has 109 views and no replies :haha: It was more of just a me letting off steam kinda thing though so I'm not that bothered. I honestly don't know why it effects people so much but we're all different hey?

Don't take this to heart but I'm getting annoyed by people starting treads like this one..

Some people just dont know what to say so its hard to try and write something and sometimes its just easier to go without replying.

We made a thread in loss section called Lurkers please read.

Went down well.

But it's a forum and people don't have to reply, it's not in the rules....is it

Thing is, the number of views doesn't equate to the number of people that have viewed it. Everytime the OP looks at it they're increasing the view number, mods might have looked at it, it may have come up randomly from someone doing a google search. People who view, then post, then their post comes up are increasing the view count.

I can see how if you're very worried about something that it's difficult to be chilled out about these things. People either need to be patient, or call a doctor if it's a serious medical issue.

yeah i dont get it either.. i also dont like getting a thread full of :hugs:... i have a baby for that, id like words of comfort or encouragement

I have been known to write *bump* when my post goes low just incase someone new online might be able to contribute:haha:
