Hiya

Well I am on cd9 and 9th day of af so we havent been able to bd yet. According to.calendar I am due to ov thursday BUT knowing my luck af will still be here so I am thinking this cycle wont be the one but if I keep having 9+ days af then I wont get pregnant! Only started last month and already giving up hope.

9 days is a very long bleed time and 24 days is a very short cycle. Have you tried anything to help regulate your cycle?

I only came off the pill last mnth and so was hoping the 24 days was just a starting blip but with how long I am still bleeding I am wondering wth is goin on. Off the pill last mnth wd bleed started 3 days after last pill and was on and off for 10 days then 8 days after +ve opk af arrived.

What can be done to help regulate. I just assumed I had to leave it to it. Lol. Xx

I would be the side effects of coming off the pill, was it the combined pill, or mini pill?
Vitex (Catus Agnus) can help, its a herbal sup and I used it to get down to 30avg day cycles, from anywhere 29-49 and in between, typically 35.

Your body needs to have at least 10 days from OV to AF, this is the phase that gives an egg time to fertilise, embed, and begin growing into a baby. Too short it's unlikely to implant and stay put.

Thanks. Last time after almost 9 yrs on it I came off mid pack, had withdrawl bleed 29 days later af and 2 mnths after stopping pill got bfp. Lol. I had a feeling this time I would struggle! Grrrr

Hi, just though id recommend vitex too!! I came off the pill in Sept and my cycles have been all over the place. I have been using OPKs and they have confirmed that I have been O really late. I took vitex last month and Ovulated a week earlier than I had the previous month!! It may be coincidence but I really feel it helped. Also, I have been taking evening primrose oil as my CM has not been anything near EWCM since stopping the pill. Last month (first month of EPO) I also had EWCM which tied in with my positive OPK! Didnt get a BFP but I feel that my body is starting to normalise with the help of these supplements!!! Good luck hunni xxx

I have 24 day cycles (I pretty much always have, for nearly 20 years now!) and it's within the "normal" range, but bleeding for 9 days is def abnormal. Do you have endo? I haven't taken any BC in years, but when I was on it, it was 3 month cycles to help with my endo. Since you have gotten off of BCP, you might have endo (possibly unDXed??) and the extended bleeding could be a symptom. Def call your doctor... something is not right with your cycles!

Thanks. I dont have it as far as im aware. Always thought I did but never been mentioned to me as a possibility. I was okay on bc for almost 9 yrs come off got regular cycle quick and pg in 2 mnths. Had lo by c section then 6 wks later went back on bc for 1 yr 2 mnths. I just wouldnt fancy surgery to check if I do have endo.

Do you have a family history? I have never had the lap surgery to check for endo, I was DXed because I have a serious family history of it, plus major symptoms. Now I'm considering surgery to burn off the excess tissue, because my mom said it REALLY made a big difference for her with pain and bleeding. Anyway, I'm not saying you do or don't have it (since I have no way to know!) but it is def worth talking to your doctor to find out why the prolonged bleeding. If nothing else, it will put your mind at ease! FXed for you that AF stops before O!

Thanks. Im not aware of a family history but dont talk to many family and havent spoke to my mum in.ages. lol. I have fibromyalgia which I assumed was cause of pelvic and back pain. I always have had period pain generally not overly heavy. Today so far tmi had small amount of mid brown ischarge/blood on liner. Just looked at symptoms and majority pain during intercourse (feel like hubby hits a wall lol). I have had cervical issues and had to have cells removed and been clear since. Past couple of periods have been mainly dark with some red inbetween. I also have ibs so just over the yearsjist deal with the pain. Xx
