I got my IUD taken out during my period. DR said to wait until my next cycle to try. Why though? I didn't wait. Is there a reason to wait other than just to know when you are ovulating? I got my period each month with IUD.
why wait until next cycle post IUD?

My doctor just told me I could get pregnant at any time after removing it. Kinda like a warning you can get pregnant any time from now on. She never told me not to get pregnant for one whole cycle and then try. Sorry I'm no help.

I think the real reason is just because it is easier for them to date the pregnancy if you wait.

I have heard they ask you not to try for another cycle to let all the hormones get out of your body completely and make sure your uterine wall lining gets back to normal thickness and the IUD works by thinning out the wall. Having said that, I had mine out last cycle and I wasn't told to wait a cycle
