Will a maternity coat work for baby wearing?

I am 33 weeks currently and just purchased a maternity coat with the intention of keeping it and wearing it to keep both baby and myself warm in the winter.

Did any of you do this? Are maternity coats generally roomy enough post baby to use for baby wearing?

My dd was born in October and I found everything too warm when baby wearing. I just wore my partners hoodie!

It depends on how you're built and how much weight you lose after birth. I agree I just went the zip up hoodie route. Mine was an early February baby though, so by the time we started to actually make it out of the house on a regular basis, it was March and getting warmer. I would say you certainly don't need one, but if you have it, there's no harm in using it if it fits.

Hi my dd was born in Dec and we were out walking the dogs within a couple of weeks. I got very warm just wearing her so had my regular winter coat unbuttoned. Occasionally would wrap it round and do up a lower popper if it felt a little chillier.x
