I don't expect any special treatment from anyone but tbh I feel pretty pregnant right now! I was told randomly today by my OH's grandma that I'm "not as big as I think I am" and I "have ages to go yet".

I said I may pack my hospital bag today and she says "why would you do that? It's too early!"

Takes me back to the times when I had bleeding in early pregnancy and I phoned a nurse, just for her to say "oh well, you can always try again" ! I wasn't even miscarrying. Then I was concerned about his movements at 27 weeks and it was "oh he's still too small to be worrying about that". :dohh:

Perhaps when I go into labour it will finally be enough to convince people that I'm having this baby :haha:

LOL- people are funny aren't they?
It's like being pregnant is an invitation for everyone's opinions and unsolicited advice on the matter. Imagine with people were so forward in other matters  haha

It is totally not crazy to pack your hospital bag yet! I'm having a home birth (due June 2nd) and I'm already buying my supplies and setting them aside. I know that I wont be needing them for another 100 days or so ha ha, but STILL. I like to know that it's taken care of. When there is so much that you can't do to prepare for a birth, it's nice to be able to do something concrete! Pack away, very pregnant lady! Good luck with your birthday!!

I know! I'm rather grateful that people seem to be more reserved with their opinions on other matters, but pregnancy seems to be the one where everyone feels they know best :haha: it's just one less thing to worry about knowing the bag is packed for whatever happens... it's a small thing but it can make such a difference to the experience if it's not done on time! Good luck with your baby birth toooo <3

Aw feel better hun.

When I was 36 weeks I had an overwhelmingly weird feeling. I was resting in bed most the day and started getting very particular and anal about getting the baby room perfect and everything cleaned.

My husband believed me but my parents would say "You still have a lot of time left. Most first time mothers will go over. Expect to have a March baby"

And guess what? I gave birth at 37+2

Some people are just idiots

My husband said that for a while, but luckily (or unluckily) I went from having a really easy carefree pregnancy to actually having a lot of discomfort, and now I’m “pregnant enough” in his eyes. Sheesh. People are weird.

Aww you poor love !! Some people have funny ideas don't they !!! Defo get your bag ready , I had mine packed at 32wks , and it has also been in the car for a week now !!

Some of the things ppl say are down right rude and often make no sense anyway. I've been preparing for this baby long before I was even pregnant and I still feel there's is loads to do and I won't finish in time so if you want to get it ready now do it.

I had a woman ask me yesterday when I was due, what we were having and if it was my first. After I answered her she said "oh I'll contain my excitement then" ?????? What's that meant to mean???? People are just odd I guess

I started packing my bag at 24 weeks and it was almost done by about 35 weeks and definitely done by 37 weeks! I didnt go overdue with my first i gave birth at exactly 39 weeks! :) But they say full term is 37 weeks so you could go into labour in a week! :)

Thanks ladies! It's nice to know there are people on here that understand :p I was starting to think 'oooh it's getting close to due day!' and then she's all 'you got aaages left' :haha: I'll feel better when shes gone home, as shes visiting for a few days but then I wont see her until after bubba is here...then no more rude comments ! :-D well...I say that, I wonder what comments can be made about my mothering skills! hehe

People are silly, I hear it both ways all the time.

You are tired? Honey just wait, you have to far to go.

What? You haven't fixed the nursery and started buying diapers? Get on that!

Whatever. Listen to your body and baby, not all the people with their special opinions.

Im afraid not. lol My favorite thing is when people who do not have kids and have any idea what being pregnant feels like, says oh you still have quite some time.

I was in the grocery store the other day, and the cashier asked me how far along I was, the due date (Normal questions) I told her April 1st. She looked at me and said oh Well you have a long time yet. I was like what? A month and a weekish?

I just don't think people understand how long 9 months really is. By the time I get to the time I am at, Im ready for my little girl to be here. People are crazy and so opiniated. Its rather annoying.

Has your grandma never heard of pre-term labor?? Which is very possible at 36 weeks?? So crazy. I work with a lady who is unmarried, never been in a relationship, no kids, etc... has every opinion in the book when it comes to other peoples relationships, pregnancy, and parenting choices. Drives me crazy. People who know absolutely nothing on a particular subject have all the advice in the world (mostly unwanted :haha:)

huni ur only afew days off what they class term and u cud defo go into labor at anytime, u do whatever u want to do xx

you are very prego! 36 weeks almost 37?? u can have your baby at any moment! i have had my bags packed since i was 30 weeks LOL i was too impatient to wait.

I was at work the other day and a woman walked in and exclaimed 'look at your big fat belly!'.... To be honest she's a bit rough round the edges but I wasn't expecting that at all and kinda mumbled 'yeah pretty big now'... It was actually cringeworthy as the majority of people have been commenting that I'm not that big considering I'm pretty far along.. People are stupid.

i cant believe she said 36 weeks is to early to pack your bags! thats crazy! you could go into labor anytime. 24 days til lyour due date is not much time at all. I know with dd i got everything done very early and i was glad i did because by the time i was 36 weeks i couldnt be on my feet more than 15 mins at a time without being in horrible pain. Some people are so silly

Im only 28 weeks and feel definately pregnant enough! I ache and am big and cannotbelieve I have 10 more weeks to go .,....................ugh. Then I stand next to the wifey at work who is a few weeks behind and she has barely any bump....but then I was obsese before hand. Which is making this even more tiring/hard - but only put on like 4lbs since I found out so its not that much extra weight. Its just sore!

Wow ppl are crazy! I know two women who just had their babies at 35 weeks and naturally went into labor!!!! Its never too early to get ready because you never know when that baby will decide to come!!!

I will be 28 weeks on monday and although some people say I don't have long to go, others seem to think I have ages left. It already seems to be forever in my mind and since this pregnancy has been difficult it seems like I just can't get close enough. I keep trying to think of things to do that might distract me from the fact that I'm not as close as I want to be but I can't think of anything. On top of that I've already had to false labor scares and the last one was extremely painful and ended with me being hospitalized overnight and monitored. So now I am terribly afraid that I will end up being put on bedrest, which scares me even more. I think while pregnant people should spend more time encouraging you, versus finding ways to point out the obvious. It will help us cope with the situation much better, we are already harboring another human being inside us, our hormones are out of control, cravings are past weird, we are running to the bathroom every 15 minutes, trying hard to sleep and get comfortable and then have to deal with oue body changing drastically.....support would be wonderful!!!

I have the same due date as you and geez do I feel pregnant enough!! This past week it's like it has suddenly hit me - back has started to ache, have had period-type pains and can't sleep well at all. So we're almost as pregnant as we can be!! Ignore stupid comments and pack your bag I say! Mine's packed (other than last minute additions I can't really pack til the day like phone charger etc). :flower:
