Hello! I'm going to chessington next Friday for a hen do and I won't be taking myiah she'll be at home so obviously I won't be able to feed her all day from 8 til 8, so I will have to express so I'm not sore while I'm there as myiah still nurses anything from every 2 hours to every 5. Would I need to take breast pump or will I be able to express enough by hand to stop engorgment while I'm there?? Also when I give her a feed at 7.30am should I then pump to properly empty them for the day or will this make them fill up faster??
Thank you for all your replies in advance xx

I think you have to feed your baby in the morning as you normally do, then take the pump with you and express every 3-4 hours max.
If it is for one day only you should not have any problems to resume your normal BF the next day :)

I would definitely take the pump, unless you are used to hand expressing it can be quite tricky so it will be easier and quicker with the pump. Don't bother pumping to empty your boobs in the morning as that just signals for them to fill back up. You will probably need to pump about every three or four hours as the previous poster said. It shouldn't take long though because your boobs will be full so it should be pretty easy to get let down. Enjoy your day!

Thank you for the replies, will take the pump and pump in the loos! The medela swing is sooo noisy though was hoping to leave it at home but id rather that than blocked ducts and exploding boobs mid ride. Will wear good old breast pads too as no doubt they will start leaking! Lol
