My story: It's real cute that my LO has decided to use me as a binky. But now I'm not only her binky, but her security blanket as well, literally. She won't stay asleep unless her arms and legs aren't tangled around me. :coffee:

It's days like this I wish my boobs detached. :haha:
Any way my LO will EVER take a binky??? If so, which ones do you girls recommend?! (She will chew on the latex ones, but out right refuses silicone ones)
Help!!!!!!!!!!

I've tried literally all dummies with Sophie because she's exactly like your LO.. To no avail.. She downright refuses them all and even gags with several..

As a last resort I ordered these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Playtex-Bi...TXSA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1316797506&sr=8-4

At least they somehow look like a nipple instead of all these massive dummies. It is to arrive soonish so I'll let you know if she'll take that one.

So not really any advice, just letting you know you're not the only one =).

8 months is old to be just introducing a dummy! I've also read it's a good idea to wean off dummies between 6 and 12 months, so I'd be wary of trying to start a habit you have to break soon.

Could you try encouraging your LO to not need to suck at all? The no cry sleep solution has some techniques on how to break the suck/sleep association.

No advice regarding dummies, as I've never bought or used one!

Just hijacking this. Can you do the no cry sleep solution with a 3 month old? Or does baby need to be a bit older :)?

Yep  There are 2 different sections; one for newborns and one for older babies.

Thanks so much! I will look into it, I refuse to let her cry but just want her to be able to fall asleep without a total meltdown!

Edit: Is it all in the same book?

It is indeed. There are 2 books; one focusing on night time sleep, one on naps. We have the night time one, and that definitely covers all ages. It mainly helps if LO needs to feed to fall asleep and wakes frequently due to not self settling very well without being fed :) :flower:

I've now got both the No Cry Sleep and No Cry Nap solution!

Sophie is incapable of falling asleep without being on the boob. She just sits with her eyes wide open staring even though she's shattered. She also doesn't go to sleep again unless being fed, during the day or night.

She loves boobie too much!

Awesome :) Fingers crossed you get sorted! I must put more effort into getting my LO to sleep without feeding. It's just so much easier to feed him than to fight with him!
