I AM planning on breastfeeding, but not everything goes as planned right??

If my little one just doesn't do it, can I still pump, and my body still have the same reaction as if I were actually feeding?

Kind of a stupid question, but I got a lot of those!

I read the thread title and thought does Dukey mean "Will farting help her lose weight?" Pumping/Farting= Same Thing!!!

.....And I know what a fan you are of letting rip with your ass gas!!!

Then I opened the thread and read what you actually meant and damn, I'm disapointed!!!:rofl:

I had a prem baby 4 weeks ago and a, ,ostly expressing but trying to establish bf i have lost at least 1 and a half stone already although only got to 33 weeks and really bad swelling with preeclampsia so its hard to say for sure but expressing def helped ro shrink my stomach - had a c sectio so again difficult to say for sure but im confident its the main reason as still uses mega calories to produce and express. best of luck. HTH

And here my first thought to the title was she meant "pumping iron" aka lifting weights.

i read the title just the same  you girls are cheering me up tonight :hugs:

    :)

yep it is the same but you would need to pump *ahem* a lot to get the same amount of milk out as a baby would... if that makes sense!!

Well how sad is that...I understood what you meant!! lol.
I'm sure you would...as you're still making the milk and it's still coming out of you...so it's gotta be the same?

My midwife told me that you have to breastfeed for 3 months before you really start to see the benefits of weightloss.
This means following a healthy diet too, of course!
