Well William is here! He made rather a surprise appearance on Thursday 20th August!

At 1.30 I popped to the loo on my way out the door and my waters went pop, not alot but enough for me to ring my midwife who came straight over. She examined me and to my surprise she could feel Williams head and I was 4cm dilated! You could have knocked me down with a feather! I was so shocked as I hadn't contracted or anything! Just had a few tight feelings since the day before. I was a little worried because she said if I didn't contracting in 24hrs I'd have to go to hospital and be induced. I'd only been approved for a home birth on Wednesday so I didn't want that at all. The MW told me to keep mobile and she'd call back at about five to see what was happening. called Jake who had just got to work and he came home. We decided to 'keep mobile' by going shopping! Went to town and came home, didn't do anything.

Popped to see my nan for a little while who lives two minutes from home. Theo MW rang at five and I told her again nothing was happening, and she said she'd call again in a couple of hours. I popped for another wee and whoosh went the rest of my waters so I literally called the mw back immediately, she said she'd come over straight away. STILL no contractions though! I sat down and finished my drink and as soon as I sood up again, WHAM I was hit by one hell of a contraction at 5pm. Scared my nan to death, we rushed out to the car to go home and before I got to the car another one came. They were coming every three mins thick and fast!

We rushed home and got the pool up really quickly, mum came to fetch my son just as the MW arrived and it was CHAOS in our living room. Hosepipes, buckets, water everywhere. Me having contractions every two minutes trying to control my TENS at the same time as filling the pool. MW chasing after me with a doppler and Harry screaming because he fell over. Jake chopping up hosepipes because he couldn't get them untangled. Absolutely mad. Eventually things settled and I got in the pool. The second mw arrived but to be honest she didn't do much other than chatter and take ALOT of photos later on, some pretty graphic!! I don't even remember her name. Jane the other original MW was fab though.

I'm not going to pretend the labout was easy and be all brave about it. It hurt like hell and the contractions were really knocking me sideways. The gas & air helped a little but not for long. I was really starting to regret my decision to have a home birth and I didn't think I was going to cope. The contractions slowed after a while and I had to get out and move around. I got back in and the mw told me if I felt the urge to push to go with it, and I believe I started to try and push WAY to early . Again the contractions slowed and I got out of the pool and moved around.

I was really in alot of pain at this point and telling the mw's I couldn't cope and wanted to go to hospital as nothing was happening. In my messed up entonox brain I wanted to go in, have a general and a c-section, like that was going to happen. Jane exanmined me and told me I was so blocked up thanks to my iron tablets she thought that was slowing things. I was really paranoid about pooing (sorry tmi lol) but she told me not to worry and when I didn't things started happening. I felt willian move down and when that happened it took about three or four contractions for him to crown (god that BURNS!). I tried so hard to control the urges and listen to the MW and thankfully he popped out without a tear! He arrived at 9.30pm and weighed in at 7Ib8oz.

He screamed blue murder but he was beautiful! As you can see! :cloud9:

After a bath in the birth pool the MW tucked me and William in to bed and left! William took to the breast like a duck to water and we haven't looked back. Not one bottle. The best bit of being in our own bed was the look of shock on Jakes face when he woke up during the night, looked down and saw his little son. Just that look of surprise for one second before he remembered everything!

I will be totally honest though and say I don't think I could do a home birth again. I really struggled with the pain although being at home afterwards was magic.

Lots of pics for you! I'll show all the non-gory ones as they kinda tell the story of my home-birth!
