thought would be interesting to see what words your toddlers can clearly say (meaning other people could understand) my little boy does not say much just really starting now - although hedoes sign lots.

Recognisable words:
Dad
Max (grandparents dog)
Tractor
Car
Cat
Hiya
Owl
Quack

That his lot no mum, mama, mummy etc. Although this is one he signs a lot!

Mumma
Nanna
Duck
Dark
Fan (says pwan lol)
Car
Choochoo
Van (says pwan car)

Thats about it, he's been referred for speech therapy x

Makes me laugh how random the words are. New word is owl maybe few owls in books but not something we tend to say a lot!

Mama
Dada
Baba (do they count as words?!)
Daddy
Ta
Down
Charlie (our cat!)
Sit down
All gone
Gone
Oh wow!
Uh oh
Oh dear
Hello
Hiya
Spider
Quack quack

Some of them might not count as proper words though!
xx

Earl's latest thing is ordering 'Sausage and Bacon' in the butchers! :haha:

At 16 months:

Mama
Dada
Nana (Gramps is too hard to say so he doesn't get called anything!)
Abby (Tabby)
Mitney (Mittens)
Rosie (her own name)
Hello
Bye
Up
Down (she uses this a lot!)
Poo poo (when she's done one)
Be happy (when she wants her nappy changed - 'happy nappy')
No! (one of her favourites)
Bookie
Shoe
Bag
Bowl
Spoon
Apple (sometimes it's bapple)
Fire
Boppy (bottle)
Bed
Pillow
Light
Tights
Hat
Man
Baba (for anyone under the age of about 20; oh, and Jeremy Clarkson, for some reason)
Pig
George
Cow (and moo)
Sheep (and baa)
Cat (and miaow)
Doggie (and bow wow wow)
Lion (and RAR!)
Tiger (and rar for him, too)
Monkey (and ooo, ooo)
Birdie (and caw, caw)
Fishie
Seal (and a sort of uh, uh, uh noise for the sound a seal makes)
Choo choo
House
Whee! (for the noise penguins make - she has a book where they slide on their tummies on the ice!)
See saw
Swing
Buggy
Beep beep (when she's in the car)
Chair
Stairs (stairs are her favourite thing)
Beans
Nyum nyum (for if someone talks about food. odd, really, because she doesn't actually like most food)
Ball
Balloon
Wye (for butterfly - not a very successful attempt but it's very cute!)
Pidey for spider
Innie (Winnie the Pooh)
Teddy
Head
Nose
Ear
Eye
Feet
Cheese (she loves grated cheddar)
Walkie (for her walker)
Ah ah! if she know's she doing something she shouldn't (little monkey!)

I can't think of any more at the moment. She's a chatty little person and it's getting hard to keep track. It also explains why she hasn't had a chance to work out how to walk unsupported yet!

Now at 2 years Omar speaks clearly in full sentences using Arabic & English. He also sings, counts & tells stories.

Cat
Again
Gone
Dink (drink)
Doggy
Cack cack (quack quack)
Cake (!!!)
Kiss
Light
Jack (his uncle)

He also makes a hissing sound for a snake, a very pathetic but incredibly cute roar for a lion, and an "ah ah ah ah" for a monkey.

Ihsan said about 10words until 19months and now I have really lost count! He is still only putting 2 word sentences together unless its 'daddy go work' or 'blocks up high'. He is good at counting he can clearly count to 10 and 20 unclearly, and misses out 15 and 17! :)

mama
dada
granda
baba (bottle)
bye bye
ball
down
no
tata
mwah (for kisses)
bowwww ( for out lol )
yum yums (for food)
bum bum (wen needs his nappy changed)

Daddy
Mummy
Natna (Grandma)
Meep meep
bap bap
Church
Door
Yum yum
Box (usually whilst pointing at the xbox)

there's loads more but can't think.

Callum doesn't speak anymore.

He has said -

- Mum
- Daddy
- Doggie
- Woof
- Sky

But now he says nothing and hasn't for nearly 2 months. His answer to every single question is "ugh!" Getting really worried. Because he used to speak and now he doesnt

Not much here but Jake's a little bit younger! We have;

Hiya!
Mum-mum
Dadda
Buloo (as in waybuloo)
Nana
Yojojo
Wow

Milk
Teddy
Mummy
Ball
Damn :haha:

She can also read numbers, count, sing several songs and use an ipad. But she doesn't talk much.

Wow I think my daughter is behind. At 16months she doesn't say much:

Mumma
Nanna
Dog
Cat
Duck
Gone(and the hand movement to go with it)
Bye(and buh bye)
Hiya
Oooooooo(when she likes something)
And my dogs called buffy but she calls her Baaa... she stands at the back door when shes in the garden shouting 'BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'

Now I feel like a rubbish mum after reading the other posts!

Far far far from behind!!

You're not rubbish! I'm sure your little one is SUPER smart and understands alot. Some are just slower with words but understand alot more.

Alexa is younger, and doesn't quite say too much.

She says:
Bye (Baaah)
Ball
Bath (Bap)
Duck
Go
Momma
DaDa
&
Fishy (Ishy) (But doesn't say it much anymore)

And She can Sign: More & All Done

And she has said Block once. She even pointed to her block when she said it, so I dunno why doesn't say it anymore.

&& Janet don't let it worry you. Alexa does this alot too. She'll say a word a ton of times and suddenly stop.
Or even actions. Like She used to wave alot then stopped, but slowly doing it again. I think they just focus on one thing at a time.

&! Alexa says the "Uhg" thing, Constantly! She'll point at something and say "Uhg"
Or I'll ask her a question and she'll say "uhg" Lol I think it's kind of funny. :)

Don't let it bother you! I'm sure he is just fine. :D
