Hi Girls,

Im nearly 8 weeks and i have noticed that my clothes are already not fitting!! (is this normal for a first pregnancy?)
I wore hipster jeans for work as (i havent told work im pregnant yet im cant wear maternity clothes).
I bent over to tie my laces while sitting down and i felt a pang then a sharpish pain on my right side. after that i got an occational dull pain for about 3 hours after!!
Now im worried that I have hurt the baby, is this possible? how protected is the baby at 8 weeks ?
really appreceiate some advice!

Thanks girls

Becky

Don't panic Becks, baby is well protected. It's likely the be the corpus luteum (the collapsed follicle in your ovary that is supporting the pregnancy). Sometimes they get a bit big and if they're over 3cm they're classed as a cyst. I had one with Ruby, but they get smaller once the placenta takes over. Just be careful when bending - if it gives you more pain go and get it checked out xx

When I was pregnant with my son (first pregnancy) I got big very quickly and by the end my bump was so big that I could hardly waddle, never mind walk! He was 8lb 6oz when he was born and was also very long, so it is completely normal for this to happen. The pain you are describing I can relate to as when I was still wearing my jeans and trousers and I bent over I would get a sharp pain in my abdomen and I always worried that I may be harming the baby with my waistband digging in. However my doctor said that baby was very well protected in the uterus at that time as it was tucked away behind and not out in front as bubs is in the later stages of pregnancy. I have been living in leggings and long tops since then as they are just so comfy and stretch with you xx
