I had my midwife appointment yesterday, and while she was having a feel around she was asking me if i had noticed any fluid loss etc...i said no and she ran off and got the specialist (which in itself made me worry)..he checked me over and has booked me in for an emergency scan tomo, to check my placenta and growth...he said that she's worryingly small for GA and wanted to make sure everything is ok. Im 38 weeks measuring fundal height for 35! I feel like i've done something, like somehow its my fault.

He also commented on how 'compact' my tummy was. Any one else gone though this? What happened if you have? I know i shouldnt worry too much, if anything was to happen she's at a good age, but you just cant help it!

Thank you :flower:

Awe :hugs: I have not gone through this, but best of luck! I'm sure everything is alright with the LO. Fingers crossed.xx

Awww, you're not alone, and I understand how you feel. I was measuring way too big, so I got sent for a growth scan, but at the scan they said the baby is too small...I'm having another scan on Thursday to see if she's grown anymore.

My advice to you would be to remember that everything is an estimate. Even growth scans can be wrong! Try not to panic, and just take everything as it comes. :hugs: You've certainly not done anything wrong! My guess is that, providing that the fluid/placenta are alright, if your baby is small, they'll do another scan in a week check that she is growing, and then take it from there.

I'm going through the same thing,

I am 38 weeks now and have been measuring small for a while and growth scans show baby to be in the 1st percentile and I measure small also.

Going back in tomorrow for a check up, they usually do a quick scan and hook me up to monitor baby and then tell me that everything is fine and she is active.

The way I have got my head around it is, if I was at school and we were asked to line up in height order, i (being petite) would always go to the beginning of the line, and that is pretty much the equivilent of what is happening to my baby

for anyone thats interested, i had my scan today and everything is fine. I was worried over nothing. My fluid is good, she is healthy size and so beautiful! Already weighing a whopping 7lbs 8oz! I think im going to have a big one not a small one haha anyways we were able to get a pic! She looks very squashed!

just shows how inaccurate these things are!!! shes lovely hun and at 7lb you might be right if she stays in there much longer she wil be a good size see even the flipping consultant got it wrong !!

Glad everything ok, they do like to worry us! As if we dont worry throughout the whole pregnancy anyhow!!xx

Great to hear hun!

...now we have chosen to have children i dont think we will ever stop worrying about things...!

i dont trust them when they come up with weights for the baby ect as 90% of the time its wrong. i was always messuring small and at a growth scan afew days before i had zane they said hed be no more then 7lbs.

after that a doc felt my bump and laughed saying hes a big baby and that i was all baby and not much fluid.

then when the mw poped my waters theres was loads to the point where she said it was so unexpected as they thought i didnt have much. and then zane was 8lb3 and 59cm long, so he was alot bigger then the scan showed.

dont worry and good luck with the rest of ur pregnancy

thanks everyone for your kind words and reasurance!! xox
