Worried about BFP and conception indicator :(

Hey ladies,

Last cycle my AF came a day early, it was pretty normal but not as crampy as usual so I thought nothing of it. This cyle I started using OPKs on CD8 and got a negative. On CD9 it turned positive and has remained a strong positive ever since (7 in a row now!)

Today curiosity got the better of me and I bought a HPT to rule out pregnancy before considering making a doctors appt about my positive OPKs lasting so long .... I was absolutely stunned when it came up BFP!!!!!!!

I think this means I conceived in December and that AF wasnt a true AF? I'm a bit worried now though that maybe the pregnancy didnt stick? I had some light bleeding on CD10 but not really anything since.

Any opinions welcome .... the BFP was a definite line, not faint or hard to see at all. I've just done a clearblue with conception indicator and it only showed 1-2 weeks, but I think it should be showing 3+. Maybe its because its not FMU and I'd just had a cup of tea? Or maybe somethings horribly wrong?

I feel really clueless, any advice welcome

If clearblue says your pregnant you are, congrats! Conception indicator is just that, an indication but the fact is your hormones are strong enough to change the test. xxx

My last BFP, i ovulated 2 days after AF ended.
Its possible your AF was a true AF and you ovulated right after finishing, or at least before you should have.

sorry I just re-read that and havent really answered your question. If the test conception indicator is 1-2 weeks in doctors terms you are 3-5 weeks because they time it from the start of your cycle. xxx

(always based on the average 28 day cycle)

Thanks. If I got pregnant in December that means I would've conceived nearly 4 weeks ago. I think I'll test again in the morning with FMU and see what happens. Either way I'll be making an appt to see my doctor tomorrow hopefully.

Think I'm freaking out because I've had a little spotting on CD10 and today. Pinky coloured and not very heavy but I'm scared

the spotting you got could be implantation bleeding and you ovulated later in the cycle than you thought still get checked out at the doctors they might be able to offer you blood tests to check your levels and/or a ultrasound scan to see whats going on

Yes I had pink spotting, I thought It was my period starting but I now know it was implant bleed. Try not to worry

Thanks girls. I've just seen my GP who was lovely and helped put my mind at ease. She thinks I conceived in December making me 6 or 7 weeks.

She went through all the bleeding and my lack of symptoms and said she can see no real cause for concern. A small amount of spotting now and again is apparently very normal. I mentioned my worry of an ectopic pg but she said she was not concerned after feeling my tummy.

Obviously nothing is ever guaranteed but she said to take folic acid, book in with the midwife (nx Fri) and try and think positive
