Hello, can anyone offer any advice please?

I am between 5-6 weeks pregnant with my third child, although this baby wasn't planned it is very much wanted. However, I have had very slight brownish discharge over the last two days and the doctor's are currently not interested. Unless I start bleeding heavily they're not bothered. Trouble is I am as I never had anything like this with my other pregnancies.

Also, the "pregnant feeling" has gone and my breasts are tender which they were a few days ago, I am also feeling bery very bloated.

I'm terrified this could be the first signs of a miscarriage? :(

x

Sorry i can't help but didn't want to read and run. Hope everything is ok. X

Sorry - typing error, that was meant to say my breasts are "NOT" feeling tender which they were a few days ago x

Hi hope78!
just to give you some reassurance- I had some bleeding- brown around my 5-6 week mark. I went to A and E as I am at risk of another ectopic. There was nothing they could do via scanning but did take my bloods. At this point I was having my bloods regularly monitored and so I saw they had risen since the last time I had bloods taken (2 days prior) They couldnt reassure me I wouldnt miscarry and sent me on my way until the Early Pregnancy Unit were open. When I did get seen at EPU my sac was in the right place (so no ectopic) and thats all they could see :? But they did see 'pockets' of blood spots and said this could be the reason why I was bleeding. They said I may bleed again but not to worry unless it was red, clotty and very heavy. I am thankful that it wasnt and am now waiting for my 12 week scan.

I hope that reassures you- it is normal to have spotting and brown indicates old blood so try not to worry- I would suggest speaking to your GP and maybe getting them so do an early scan around 6 weeks to make sure all is ok- Good luck

Hello Minimin,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me, I'm sorry that you've not had an esy time of it and thank you so much for your reassurance, I hope you are right and that it's nothing to worry about, trouble is not worrying is so much easier said than done.

Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

I know worrying is the only thing we do end up doing. no matter how much reassurance we get. I am just hoping your spotting is the same as mine :) keep me posted and congrats yourself hun!!! :)

Hope78 - I got scanned a few days ago as I woke up with a heavy bleed. They found a sac and what might be a pole but they also found a large blood clot which they assure me has been causing all the bleeding. I've been bleeding for about 2 weeks now but I've not got any cramping or in any pain which is how I was with my other miscarriages.

You won't be reassured until you see a heartbeat and get told that baby is doing well but just wanted to let you know that you're not alone.

Hi Hope 78,

I had brown bleeding from before I had a bfp until a week ago. I am now 8 weeks pregnant.
I had an early scan at 5 weeks and they saw the sac but nothing else. I then went on holiday and for 1.5 weeks was still spotting brown and panicking every day and so so anxious. This morning I had an 8 week scan they saw everything including a heart beat. It was amazing almost miraculous the growth in 3 weeks. They also saw a 1 cm bleed above the sac that explained the brown spotting. Please don't get to anxious, I know it is easier said than done. A big hug xxxx

brown blood is old blood so try not to worry hun! you will be fine! xx

Oh, thank you all so much for your posts

babyattempt3, sounds like you're having a very worrying time also and I hope all will be well for you xx

elliel, fantastic news for you, congratulations and thank you for the reassurance, definately hard not to worry, I feel like anything I do might result in negative consequences xx

emme, thank you, a couple of people have said that to me now, and I hope you're all right, that it doesn't mean anything bad, just not had anything like this before so hard not to worry about it. Will be happier when I'm far enough along to scan xx

newmummy2010, nothing at all? Have they booked you in for another scan in a couple of weeks? I hope it works out for you, thank you for taking the time to reply xx
