Hey guys,

After being unsuccessfully TTC for so long, I've decided to wait, get my things together (mostly health wise) and then try again later.

Well, my first step was getting off birth control that the doctor at the clinic put me on. I explained to her about me not having a period in over 2 years and I wanted one, so she gave me bc pills? I stopped taking them and I've had a wicked (10 days today) period or withdrawal bleeding, whatever you wanna call it. Anyways, I went to the doctor the day I stopped taking my bc pills... And she told me I need an ultrasound to check my ovaries for PCOS, but first I need health insurance or money to get it. She says somewhere around $300. And just a side note, I know a lot of people are thinking "why does she want a baby if she can't afford an ultrasound?" We haven't been trying for a while, and I recently bought a much needed new vehicle so I've got bigger bills now than ever.

Anyway, she told me I needed to do that and then talk to a specialist that comes into their clinic once a week. (this is a different doctor than the one who prescribed me the bc pills)

I am just asking for prayers and good words. I know it's gonna be a while for me to find out what's wrong, and I know it'll be tough. But I've always wanted children, and so has my husband. We'll make it through either way but we are hoping for the best.

And I know some contributing factors are my weight and my hypothyroidism. And I'm still trying to get my levothyroxine dosage where it needs to be. I just got it increased. But thank you for reading, and I hope everyone has a safe and blessed Holiday season.

Hey, firstly please don't be worrying about people questioning your finances and your decision to have a baby, that's a personal thing to you and you shouldn't have to justify yourself- And I don't think anyone here would think that.
Anyway, I'm sorry your having some issues. I don't really have a whole lot to offer you, other than a bit of positivity! I've just this evening had my first good smear since 2011. I was never told good or bad what was happening, just that there was something "wrong". So of course I prepared for the worst. Remember your body is an amazing tool, it might surprise you and fall into place. Good luck xx

Good luck with everything hun!:hugs:

Ive been to my doctor too many times to count about my periods. My cycles are anywhere from 11 to 72 days long. Ive had multiple blood tests for anemia and a thyroid problem, those came back all clear. I just recently had an ultrasound to check for PCOS. And that came back clear too. It is frustrating. Ive been on birth control a few times to start my period and try to help regulate it. That hasn't worked either. :nope: It sucks not knowing whats going on and im sorry you have to go through that too. I hope you're able to find out whats going on soon. Even if it isnt great news, you will at least have answers and can find ways to help. :flower:
