Worried first timer

Hiya,

I'm 21 and this is my first pregnancy, really excited but slightly worried at events this last couple of weeks. I found out on Saturday I'm expecting and worked out i'm between 7 - 8 weeks. but on the Wednesday before I found out i'd had a brown discharge and then I had the same on Monday (not continous just when i wipe sorry to tmi). I've got a internal V scan booked in for this Monday coming but I jut feel like thats forever away!

Another thing is I keep getting like period pains/tummy pains and i'm just so worried i've lost it.

Any words of wisdom for a first timer?

Could be implantation bleeds that you are wiping away. Plus brown blood is usually old blood and therefore can just mean a general clean out. Also I had the cramps and sometimes they were really bad! But it seems that it is normal and many women have them. It is either your ligaments and your womb stretching and making room. I had my first scan about a week after those pains and everything was ok. Congrats on your pregnancy and wishing you a h&h 9 months

Hey,

Sounds like you are having spotting. 1 in 3 pregnancies have some kind of spotting or bleeding during the pregnancy and they go full term. Unless it's bright red blood accompanied with alot of pain everything is normal.

It's easy for me to say, don't worry it will all be fine, but much harder to do! I have been spotting on and off since day 12dpo and it's driving me nuts.

Sometimes a bit of spotting is fine, sometimes it isn't. Some mild pain is often usual too. Unfortunately until you have your scan nobody can know how things are going, but lots of people myself included have had some light spotting and brown discharge without it turning into anything bad. I had brown spotting from 6 weeks to just over 7 weeks. It was never enough to need a pad but every time I went to the washroom and wiped there was brown on the TP. Scared the crap out of me!
I talked to my family dr and midwife about it and they both said it was normal and not to be concerned about.
It has since stopped and all seems to be ok!

I had almost constant cramping (mild achey cramps, similiar to AF but less intense and more achey than painful) from weeks 4 to 7, things are stretching out down there and its pretty normal. I still get them occassionally but its not as constant now.
