isnt a d&c more of a "scrape" whereas erpc is just a vacuum? thats how the surgeon explaned to me when i had my erpc - but i think more of less its the same kind of thing

As above said ^ like a d&c but more of a 'suck' than a 'scrape'. An eprc was actually what i had but just refer to having a D&C as its more or less the same thing x

I had a D&C and they used a suction device on it as well
I didnt know what ERPC was either I even looked at the abbreviation index and couldent find it

horrid isn't it. 2 of my mcs were in Switzerland and the German speaking Drs insisted on referring to them as abortions and it upset me so much.

I think ERPC is the more 'usual' method they use with mc etc but D&C is for more "stuck" tissues and materials, maybe its for later pregnancies but I dont know?

I had ERPC at 10 1/2 weeks after mmc, (3 weeks ago) now talk of needing D&C as possible 'retained products' still x

I'm wondering if it's not a regional thing? All I've ever heard of is a D&C or a D&E and just recently found out about a D&E when I found out I was miscarrying.

I'm from the States by the way.

A D&E is performed during the second trimester is my understanding.
