Well.................
Our dog was 8, and she was PTS as she practically had a broken back/neck.
She had tried to jump from the sofa to a coffee table and missed snacking her head back on the table and then hitting the sofa.
She seemed fine at the time, then a few months later she developed what we a few months later found out was cushings. An xray revealed the back/neck issues. It had gone unnoticed cos of the cushings causing weight gain and she wasnt moving about much.
So, it could be possible. I would ask her exactly what happened tho. If the dog was say, in her arms, and jumped to the sofa and twisted mid air and bounced off sofa then landed funny. it could very well be possible. But not sure about the bent over double bit.
