so i had an appointment booked for wednesday with my doctor, but due to the earthquake the town my doctor is in is damaged and the doctors is not open, there a plently of doctors in the next town over the town i work in... should i just ring up and go and see another doctor all i want is a blood test and to hopefully get a scan booked for a few weeks time when everything has settled after the earthquake which is hopefully soon i cant wait until 12 weeks for a scan lol.

anyways would you just go to another doctor or wait like 2 weeks to see your doctor?
note: i have never meet my doctor before i have just gotten a new one as my old one left so its not like i care if i see her or not

I'd just go to someone else. Chances are once they're open again they'll be busy for a while anyway, catching up on seeing women further along in their pregnancies. And this early, you can really do without the stress of not knowing when you'll get to see your doctor.

yeah i will book one tomorrow, i might even tell a few white lies to get what i want, i think i will either say i dont know when my lmp was or i had some bleeding, other wise i know i will be waiting for months

Persoanlly i would wait....most other people will have to wait, and you might not necisarrily (spelling?) get a scan anyway.....so many people who have had losses, dont get early scans.....but thats just my opinion that i'd wait they probably wont scan you till about 7 weeks anyway :) x

yeah i didnt want one until 7 weeks as i want to see heart beat but they get pretty booked up, here if you want a scan your doctor just usually books it for you, you dont even really need a reason

OOOO tricky one, I think it would depend on how long you think your docs will be closed for. If its only a week or so I would wait but if you think it slonger or if you just cant handle waiting then its worth popping in to another to have a chat. Here in the UK they wont let you just go to see another doc if you have one but am sure in the earthquake situation they would have some kinda of medical helpline. Is there an out of hours service linked to your doctors at all? Or a partner surgery maybe?

they let you go any where just charge more if it is not your doctors practice...

we have an afterhours but it is in town and i would imagine there is a lot of injured people going there and i dont want to risk driving into town its a mess there...

i might ring my doctors tomorrow and hope someone answers to see what is happening i could wait another week or 2 but would prefer not to

Yes I was just thinking that the open docs would be busier than normal with the quake. Awww try not to worry, its normal to want to know everything as soon as possible but sometimes life has other designs. Giving them a call on monday sounds like a good plan to me hun.
