I hate our government!! Lets all move to germany!

Waw thats fab. But Im sure we are a nation of breeders  so there is no chance of a dwindling population

This sounds good in this article, BUT

This new law is a discrimination against "normal" women!!! Why is the child of an secretary less worth than the one of a manager?????

Before our great governement decided this Parents whoms income was below a certain amount each year (so parents really in need of this money!!) received a sum of 450 € per month for 1 or -dependend of the annual income - for 2 years.

With this new system you receive about 300€ for 1 year (if not employed before having your baby or beeing a "stay home mum" and 67 percent of your income (if you were working in a job before giving birth) for 1 year. So if you are eligible for 1800 € you must have earned about 2700 € nett what means your gross salary should be about 4200€ (about 2800 pounds) per month!!!!!!!

People really in need of this money are the loosers of this system since they are getting less money!!!!!!!

On the other hand the fees for kindergärten (if you get a place for your 3 year old child) are rising. So if we want to have a place for Matthias next year we will have to pay at the moment 150 € per month (he can stay there from 9am to 1pm). Governement plans are to at least double this fee per month! It is nearly impossible here to find a nuresery for a under 3 year old child (o.k. if you are eligilbe for 1800 € you earn enough to finance a nanny).

They want the more educated people to have children, but our politicans forget that children need love and time to be raised!!!! Do they really think that a women who earns this money will stay home after giving birth??? She has to go back to her job to go ahead with her occupational career.

That's terrible! I just sorta presumed it would be based on what income you didn't have rather than what you did.

How daft is that? Did some bloke come up with it?
