:thumbup:I start uni 2 wks today. I'm 23. OH & I TTC at the start of the year, but then we had to put things on hold due to finding out about my Nursing place.
I'm so excited to start my degree (Children's Nursing) and a little scared, but I really just want the new few years to fly so we can TTC. At the moment we're looking at TTC in the final year. We are both really, really broody.
Is anyone else waiting because of education?

Also, I'm pooping myself a little at writing assignments etc as it's been 4 years since I was last in education... but hopefully it'll be ok :dohh:

My boyfriend and I were gonna wait until final year as well, but seeing as though I fell pregnant a few months ago, we've now decided - if it happens it happens. :) and i'll just go part time instead of full. You may find that when uni starts and you've got assignments to do it will take your mind off it.

I'm starting first year as well. Hope your course goes well! x

I'm waiting due to education and home circumstances. I'm doing my adult nursing

My OH is getting his Masters so we're WTT for that.

Hi all,
Initially we waited untill I had finished my degree (also a mature student) but then I was so excited about getting where I wanted to be, I have now been qualified for 4 years. But we have now decided to start to try June/July 2011. As a bonus for those of you doing nursing (I'm an occupational therapist) the NHS is a great employer when you have a family. Really suportive. I would recommend that you wait untill you are in a job until you TTC, much better benafits and security.

Good Luck to you all.

Sending you all Baby Dust .....

I too am wtt to try because of education. I'm going into my last year at university. I've been really broody this summer but put it down to not having anything else to occupy my mind! I'm really making myself focus on education now. We have also decided we are going travelling for about 6 months in a years time so we have life experience and experience of other cultures and see the world so we can pass our experiences onto our children.

I have had a real battle going on in my head this summer though, between knowing what is the sensible thing to do for us and resisting biological urges!

Hi I'm wtt until i'm finished uni, only in my 1st year now so a long wait! i know i'd feel much better knowing that my education is sorted first though

OH and I were going to WTT until my final year of college, but last year talked and decided to TTC. I had my son in the middle of spring semester, took a week off of class, and after that OH kept him while I was in class. It IS doable to have a baby in college/uni (I'm horrible at the differences between US and UK education systems, lol). I really want to TTC again, but am doing my field placement for the final year of my degree program (social work) and it would be really hard to take maternity leave from it. After that I'm contracted to work for our social services agency for one year, so we will most likely TTC in the middle of that year. I graduate in May!!! Yay!

I'm done with my schooling (college/uni) but my dh is set to graduate in Dec of next year... that's why we will start ttc Jan 1st :D

Hi Kintenda! Husband and I definitely wanted to get my education over with first (graduated in April). It will truly make things easier to get it out of the way. As tough as it is to wait, why not make things as easy as possible? Good luck with the program! :)

we WTT until my final year, started TTC in January, when I was set to finish that summer. But then baby arrived really early, and i was in hospital from 27 weeks onwards, so I ended up not being able to finish. So now I'm WTT for #2 until after I have finished my degree I didn't finish before, lol. Only 2 months to go now though! Plus I have to get healthy so that my next baby is less likely to be premature.

Hey :) I've applied to uni to start Sep next year to do midwifery, we're waiting until the last year of uni too so that if it happens, I'll be nearly finished anyway :p
probably won't be that well timed...but oh well :D x
