xray and pregnancy

I know itsbad but my son has to go in for an xray of his cast tomorrow. And he wont go with anyone but me. Would it be okay for me to go back there? They dress me in lead and they only take a couple pictures. Is it okay?

they usually have a barrier or a wall to stand behind... you should be fine if you stand behind that... BUT MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM! I'm sure they'll be understanding and helpful x

Oh dear that is a tricky one. I'm guessing that your son will want you to hold him while they are doing the x-ray? Can you get someone else to come with you and if the hospital say no that you can't be in there ask the other person to comfort him? They will be as quick as possible to avoid any distress to your little boy. xx

I'm sure you will be fine as long as you wear the protective vests (the ones for pregnant women are much heavier, sometimes they put more than one on you) and stand behind the counter where the person taking the picture stands.

I have also heard that xrays are not as dangerous in the 2nd trimester as they are in the first. Maybe the baby is more protected and it is harder to scramble things?

Either way I would still be precautions.

If they know u are pregnant then they can advise u if its safe or not so i would take their advice and take someone with u if they say no xxx
