Hello! So i found out 2 days ago i'm pregnant of my fourth! I'm ecstatic but here's the thing....if i calculated right conception was on or around the 24 of july and i had 4 tailbone (coccyx) xrays done on the 30......i spoke to several people and opinions vary. Some say not to worry i was only technally 6 days into my pregnancy others think it could be a problem :(( Anyone been through this>> I'm REALLY worried ao any info or opinions would be greatly apreciated! Thxs!

I wouldn't worry about it for now. There's nothing you can do to change it at this point.

I agree with pp. I honestly don't think it hurt anything but I am not a doctor. I had to get a dental xray at like 7 weeks for an infection and said something about it on here and people flipped out, even when my dentist and doctor said the risk was extremely extremely small and I needed to have it done. I bet if you contact a doctor they will let you know what's up. Good luck sweetie.

my last pregnancy before I found out I had a chest xray no cover what so ever. I was also put on some dangerous blood pressure pills that should never have been prescribed to anyone childbearing age. I wasn't feeling good and had no peorid for a year the doctor didn't even think to check for pregancy. Sadly my baby was stillborn at 22 weeks heart stopped. The cord had not devolped correctly. My obgyn not the doctor who did the xrays and pills said it had nothing to do with the xray but most likely alot to do with the pills that caused the cord not to connect and grow right. She also told me because I was scared when I found out I was pregnant that women back before xrays was considered dangerous during pregnancy had xrays to see the baby before ultrasounds came out and their babies was fine. I really don't think you have anything to worry about because I am pregnant again and seen a new doctor in the office and told her about the xray and pills she said the xray didn't have anything to do with it but the pills most likely did. So that was two different ones that said it had nothing to do with the xray. Best of luck to you I know it is hard not to worry.

You will be fine.. they use such short bursts and it's not a continuous exposure. Don't fret :). I got exposed to flouroscopy procedure at my job (continuous xray during a surgical procedure) in early pregnancy and all is well. It takes a LOT of exposure to cause problems.

Thxs so much to u all! I really appreciate the ans and encouragments! :) *hugs*

you were only "6" days if you are correct so I dont think its a big concern, there is nothing you can do now. I would just inform your dr when you go to your visit just so they are aware. I always tell those drs I am not sure if I am. If I know 100% im not I will say nope not pregnant.

I had dental x-rays before knowing I was pregnant (about 12 days) and my doctor and dentist both said not to worry a bit.

I don't know who the people are that you've spoken to, but the only opinions I would trust are those of your doctor and an x-ray specialist. Everyone else is just an amateur. If you really need reassurance, I'm sure the x-ray tech can tell you at what rate the scans were done and you can compare that to the generally recommended maximums, but I suspect they will be well under the recommended levels.

A friend of mine had to have x-rays done during her pregnancy (she is a cancer survivor and needed to be checked for possible recurrence of the cancer) and even though there was no way to shield her baby, the doctors recommended she get the x-rays done as a precaution. She was fine, baby was fine.
