Hi there,

My name is Rachel and I am currently pregnant with my second. I got PG straight after having a miscarriage in July (blighted ovum) and I conceived my first (Thomas) after 4 years of trying and treatment for endometriosis.

The problem I'm having is that the symptoms for all 3 pregnancies are very similar (even though one failed). I had early spotting (red and = to about 3 wipes), cramping enough to suspect a miscarriage as well as sickness, sore boobs etc.

Now, about 2 weeks ago I took myself to A & E because the pain was so bad the doctor examined me. She said my OS was closed and my BHCG was almost 27,000. An ultrasound scan on the following Sunday revealed a sac, yolk sac, fetus measuring 6 weeks (bang on) and a heartbeat. So I left feeling cautiously optimistic and life was quite uneventful until yesterday, when I started having cramps again.

Now, during my first pregnancy, I took myself to A & E 3 times before the 3 month mark because of cramps (never bleeding) so, even though, yesterday was so horrible and I was convinced I had lost my bubba, it is so similar to that pregnancy, I can't help feel there is still some hope.

The cramping was never explained during that pregnancy and I put it down to a slightly more irritable bowel. The pain seems worse after I have gone to the toilet after a period of constipation.

I spoke to my midwife yesterday (haven't even had the booking appt yet!) and she had booked me another scan on Monday so I guess I'll just sit tight until then.

Have any of you gone through anything similar? I would be very grateful to get some advice.

Thank you xxx

I did not want to r&r, but alot of women have unexplained cramping in pregnancy. It is a good sign you are not bleeding. I have had cramps on and off since 5 weeks. They are not painful, just annoying. That is good your MW booked you in for a scan on Mon. I am sure everything will be ok. GL :)

Hey,,I had spotting with 2 of my babies and they were both healthy. I had spotting in one pregnancy which was worse and the cramping was like mini contractions rather than the period type ones I have normally and that ended in a 7 wk miscarriage :(. I am currently having THE worst cramps ever but seeing as there's been no bleeding I'm trying hard not to panic,,plus my belly is growing which helps. I'm hating having to wait another 3 or so weeks before I can get a scan and am almost tempted to go down A&E and explain about my cramping and hope that they scan me but then there's no guarantee that they even will is there?? Grrrr the first 12 weeks are the hardest BUT cramping is completely normal and gets worse the more you have so seeing as you've had a good scan :) I'd stay positive :) good luck xx
