Your babies nursery

Nice! I have to frame my coworker's painting ahhh. I feel like the list is never ending

It's done! I'm just cleaning up some edges and we need to paint a cloud or two. But it's 99% done. I can't believe how fast our friend painted all this. He got this done in about 24 hrs. DH and I painted the walls and the green grassy hill. And our friend did all the artistic work. Holy cow!

Our friend is amazing. He's so talented and creative, it's amazing. <3

Had a total change in plans on ours ha.

Went with an 'enchanted forest' fairy tale type theme. Purples & greens with white furniture. I'm loving it so far (the little I have done). Look forward to something a little different than pink pink pink:cloud9:

Littlemiss how cute! Love that light fixture!

Gag those little touches really make the room so much more unique. So cute!

Mara love the placement of the crib with those characters right above it! Cute!

I have done poop lol. Today is my last day of work so I'm hoping to get in there this weekend and get stuff put away. I want all his stuff away before I step back and think decor

All of the nurseries are looking sooo good!!!

Our Charlie's nursery is finally complete:

Updated shot of ours! We need new curtains, couple more shelves on the walls and to get her mobile finished up. But that's it!:)

Love it! Why are all of your nurseries magazine worthy?! Jealous

Hey ladies, question for all of you. In my nursery there are two massive windows on the only two walls that don't have doors, which means that the crib has to go under a window. I know, scandalous. I've decided I just have to let that be the way though because I can't put it anywhere else. So, now I want to make it as safe as possible. Obviously, that means that I will be tying the cords up and attaching them high on the wall by cleats, but I'd love to be able to have some sort of blackout curtains. If I look online I see a lot of doomsday posts about how the baby will pull the curtains down and they will die. My thoughts are that as long as the curtain rod is properly attached to the studs the likelihood of death by curtain is probably so low that I shouldn't worry about it, but in the back of my mind there is the thought that maybe I'm a terrible mom already. What do you think?

P.s. some of the reasons I have read about why the crib shouldn't be under the window that I say are ridiculous are:
- there could be a storm which causes a branch to break off a tree and come flying through the window
- someone might climb up to the window, reach in and take the baby (my window is on the second floor)
- the baby might figure out the window lock, even if it is about 5 feet off the floor, manage to open it, slide the heavy window up, push the screen out and climb out
- hail is likely to pound on the window hard enough to break it and I would somehow not have remembered that I have a baby so would not have checked how they were doing or considered taking them away from the window during a storm of that intensity

I hate the ridiculous fear and doomsday ideas about it all, but I am wondering if there is any real danger to putting up curtains and if so any other suggestions you may have

It happens and it's a series of unfortunate events. It's like falling asleep with your kid or Harambe. Usually everything works out. But every now and then a series of events leads to catastrophe. Have you thought about putting it in the middle of the room? I couldn't because I like open space and things against walls, but I have seen some really stunning rooms where cribs/beds were in the middle of the room or diagonal to a corner. I'm sure if it's secure with no hanging cords it's fine but idk. I couldn't put it in front of a window because I would feel like people were watching my kid or would break it. I watch too many horror movies. I don't like that the attic access is in the nursery closet but the other room was by the stairs so I can't win

It definitely can't go in the middle, it's too small of a room and would then take up all the space. I'm not concerned about people looking in though because its a second story, very high up.

Yeah I'm weird and paranoid about everything lol

I mean chances are as long as it's installed properly it's fine. The odds are heavily in your favor, but yes someone has to be that one that is the one in a million
