Just for fun, I would love to hear the best tips and tricks you have read, heard, discovered, whatever...for getting pregnant! I come across a lot on the internet, and a lot of them DH and I try for fun. (we have to keep a sense of humor and fun in all this TTC stuff or we go crazy) We have a great time giggling after we BD as I sit there with a pillow under my rump and my legs in the air. What do you gals do???

I want to hear them all! Weird things to eat? Teas? Positions? States of the moon? What have you all heard? Have they worked?

Let's hear it!

Softcups, used both cycles I got pregnant (and it stuck).

Explain these soft cups please

Instead softcups (usually used for AF). Simply as soon as DTD is over, slip a softcup in. This holds the sperm cervix adjacent for up to 12 hours. It also makes cleanup a breeze.

Oooh! I have heard of this! I have been debating trying it since I have a tilted uterus and it makes my cervix point in odd angles! I often worry the swimmers don't find their way in there! Are they expensive?

I got two for this cycle, but they haven't arrived yet :(. They are really cheap (around £3.50 for two) you can get disposable ones or reusable ones xx

Neat! Ok, I just told DH we are trying this. He says I have to get up and do a dance after since I won't have to lay there with my legs in the air!

Lol, as we speak im doing the whole 'pillow under the hips thing' 😝. Can't wait for the soft ups to arrive so I can be mobile and not lay here for an hour desperate for a wee 😁

I think I've paid from $6 to $14 for 14 disposable ones, depending on the store.

So I just read on on the net about throwing underwear onto the roof during a full moon and not retrieving them until the new moon.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Hahahaha! That one is funny! No way is my underwear going on the roof! :haha:

I just started trying acupuncture this cycle. Jury is still out on whether it works for me or not. I didn't take their teas offered, just the acupuncture, so don't know how much of a difference that could make.

So how do these soft cups work? Do they come out after a certain period of time? Sorry... I'm a newb and its been 12 months now and nothing :( AF got me this morning

I've just used one for the first time. Basically you do the deed, then put the cup in, the theory is that the sperm sits inside the cup and The cup almost 'cups' your cervix, holding the sperm up close to your cervix, meaning that it minimises the amount that leaks out (in theory). A lot of people swear by them, I figure it's worth a try. X

Here is a fun list! From The Stir: https://thestir.cafemom.com/pregnancy/115709/10_bizarre_things_women_do

1. The gravity method: Putting your rear end up on a pillow, putting your legs over your head, or standing on your head post-coitus.

2. Invoking your fertility god of choice: Lots of options here ranging from St. Gerard, the Catholic Patron Saint of Motherhood (not sure why it’s a man), to Kokopelli, the Native American fertility deity, to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of fertility, to Aditi, the Hindu goddess of fertility.

3. Feng shui: Putting a ceramic elephant on either side of the bedroom door; another suggestion is to place dragon statues in the bedroom next to the man’s side of the bed so that some oomph is added to his sperm.

4. Spoonful of syrup: Downing a teaspoon of cough syrup every day for a week before ovulation thins out cervical mucus and makes it easier for the sperm to swim their way to the egg.

5. Sipping sludge: Drinking one teaspoon of 100 percent Grade B maple syrup (Aunt Jemima’s apparently isn’t good enough) and one teaspoon of 100 percent cocoa powder mixed in a cup of coffee first thing after waking ... for two to three months (at least according to the woman who worked at the health food store. And yes, it tastes like the bottom of the Mississippi River).

6. The use of technology: HormonalForecaster.com, which claims it “uses unique algorithms and patent pending technology to shade fertility charts to predict ovulation and indicate fertility.” Other software programs include Cycle Watch and Ovulation-Predict, but there are dozens of them.

7. Counting on crystals: For the earth goddesses among us, placing crystals like rose quartz, moss agate, carnelian, garnet, and smoky quartz on your uterus, ovaries, thighs, and the center of your pubic bone is said to enhance fertility.

8. Hungarian mineral baths: In Budapest, there are healing mineral waters flowing underground. They are said to soothe arthritis and even help fertility. I tried that bad boy out -- just had to stomach a bunch of hairy women (myself included), a rotten-egg sulfuric smell, and lukewarm, yellowish water.

9. Steaming the hooha method: Chai-yok, or a vaginal steam bath. Fourteen different herbs are seeped like tea, and the daring woman sits on a stool with an opening so that the steam can penetrate the gynecologic regions and increase fertility.

10. Traditional Chinese medicine: A TCM specialist swears by taking Wu Ling Zhi, which is the fecal matter of a flying squirrel; yes, popping pills of flying squirrel poo!

And some more I found! Including the one with your undies on the roof!

*Eat More Blueberry Jam: In her quest to get pregnant, a writer in England says she was told that blueberry jam, eaten straight from the jar, can help in the fertility department. If you're shaking your head at this, as I am, wait until you hear what someone in her family told her husband to do: Her husband, she writes,"was accosted by an aging uncle at a family gathering, and told he needed to cover his willy in blueberry jam."

*Put Egg Whites Down There: When I was trying to get pregnant with my first baby and it didn't happen on the first try, I instantly panicked and read every pregnancy tip I could find. One of them involved putting raw egg whites down there before sex. The idea is the egg whites can act as an artificial cervical lubricant that helps the sperm find it's way to where it needs to be. No, I never tried this, not only because it sounds a little gross and really unhygienic, but also because most fertility experts don't recommend it at all.

Throw Your Underwear on the Roof of Your House: This one's downright bizarre, the Yansi people of Africa's Congo region have a tradition of tossing their underwear on the roof of their houses as a way to boost fertility. To get pregnant, however, you have to climb up and grab your undies on the night of a new moon, according to the legend.

Rub the Belly of a Statue: Ripley's Believe it or Not claims that more than 2,000 women have written them to say that they got pregnant after touching (or, ahem, rubbing) a pair of the company's ancient African fertility statues. Uh huh.

You can use them up to 12 hours with AF, I usually just did them overnight. You have to go in and retrieve it.

That's exciting! I have read a LOT of great things about acupuncture! I have actually been wanting to try it because I have Fibromyalgia and it is supposed to be amazing for chronic pain relief. Be sure to report if it works!!!
