zantac??

hi ladies..so i took zantac in the last weeks of my first pregnancy as the heartburn was so bad at night i would be up all night and nearly vomitting from it and if i didnt take it it would cause ulcers ect.
this time i have had to start it much earlier..i think i started about 23 weeks..and i HAVE to take it once a night every night or i am in terrible pain all night.however the box says do not use for more than 9 days..
does anyone know if it can cause my body harm from prolonged use?

yes you can...I use it when i cant sleep due to heartburn.
But what do I know..I thought we werent alound Codiene until I went to hospital for surgery and they gave me loads..and told me to take it every 4 horus.

well now i know that i shall not suffer any longer lol bloody rennie are poo and gaviscon makes me wanna hurl hahahaha!!

haha yes i got it in my first pregnancy on prescription from my dr and i have asked the chemist its in some category where its not proven to be harmful and they dont think it is but theyr not really sure.my doc was positive its better for me not to be throwing up and never sleeping than not to take it..

The doctor told me to use it as needed, but didn't give me any restrictions on how long we should use it for? You might call your doctor to ask. =)

My Dr told me it was OK to use. However, it's really expensive. Buy the generic brand. It's called Ranitidine.

i dont find it too bad there is a discount chemist here that sells 28 tablets for $10..thats a months supply seems alright to me..until i found that though i think i bought a pack of 12 for $13..that was expensive!
