Hi all
I had an ovarian cyst removed 10 days ago when I was 16weeks pregnant and have got a 7" incision scar along the pubic bone similar to a caesarian so I'd like to pick your brains as it's the most similar op!
The scar pain isn't so bad now but in the last 24hrs or so I've felt like my tummy is bruised just below the belly button to just above my scar - has anyone experienced something similar? Should I be ringing the alarm bells?
Thanks!

Sounds normal to me - this is how my c section area feels like just above my incision. It's like a numbing weird feeling on the skin. It's probably from cutting through nerves and tissue

I had the same surgery at 14 weeks and got my staples out after 10 days and yes it was very tender and even now at nearly 38 weeks I still have numb spots although my wound healed perfectly. Don't worry whilst they were removing your cyst they would probably have had to move some other tissue which will still be healing, plus even if your external wound is fully closed your internal wound may well still be healing.

Can't comment on being like a section until after 1st June when mine is scheduled for (not due to the surgery but a 3rd degree tear with ds) although I have said before that I've already been through the effects of a section but still carrying the baby (if that makes sense?)

I hope you heal as well as I have and that it wasn't too traumatic (I was a wreck for the whole week before surgery!)

Well they told me they wanted to do the op when I saw the consultant last tuesday and then did it the next day so I didn't get much worrying time (which I think my OH and family were grateful for!).

Thanks for the swift replies!

Lucky you my cyst was seen at my 12 week appointment but my consultant wanted to wait until 2nd tri for a better chance for LO I got the telephone call the day after the scan to tell me surgery would be the following Friday (8 days later) so needless to say we worried for the whole time right up until our scan that night and the following morning!

Good luck with your healing and have a health pregnancy :hugs:

Oh I'd known about the cyst since the 8wk scan but got the "don't worry, it'll go down" lines constantly - not one mention of taking the bloody thing out until the day I saw the consultant!
