Hey girls..
So, my boss and his wife went away on vacation and came back really sick. My boss came in Monday looking/sounding like hell, and I tried to stay away. Well yesterday, they BOTH came in, and have been coughing and hacking all over the whole damn office. Well, turns out I contracted it, or at least some of it, and woke up with a 100.7 degree fever, chills, sweating, and a cough. I read not to worry about the fever unless it's over 102-103..
This is my first pregnancy.. I just want to take proper precautions. What do I need to do? I'm beyond annoyed at how inconsiderate they were..

Oh no you poor thing. My advice would be to make sure you drink plenty of fluids and take some paracetamol as that can help lower your fever. Even if you're cold and shivery don't wrap up too much. Try to keep cool. It's horrible being poorly especially when pregnant :-( hope you feel better soon

Yes treat it like a normal fever...lots of fluids are important and rest!! I'd talk to your Dr first but if it gets any worse or u cant get it to go down, acetaminophen helps reduce fever and is usually ok to take during pregnancy.

take care

Thank you both, I'm just so annoyed they came in sick! And the wife even made a point to make sure I'd be at work tomorrow because my coworker is out, and didn't say anything about being sorry for making me sick. So rude.

Ugh, seriously, people should really stay home when sick. I was in a maternity store yesterday and the owner sounded super sick. All I could think was why expose your germs to a bunch of women who have no immunity?!

Anyhow, as far as your fever is concerned I would drink lots of fluids, rest and take Tylenol. Check with your doctor but it should be fine to take two extra strengths at a time. I had the flu at 19 weeks last time with a 102 fever and my doctor said it was fine to take that dosage. I also put wet wash cloths all over my body-this seemed to really help too. Being sick can be awful when pregnant...I hope you feel better soon!
