Ok so the last 2 days my little girl has been very fussy at my right boob. She comes off then back on. Pulls back makes lots of noises what could this be?

I'm going thru the same thing with my 1 week old. I will be stalking this thread for answers as well :)

It's becoming really stressful. I'm pretty sure my let down isn't to fast or slow. She doesn't choke on it and when she comes off there is plenty of milk there so it's really confusing

I had this problem with DD. Midwife and breastfeeding consultant said that it could be a few things. 1-Babies tend to prefer a boob. Who knows why, but they do. 2-It could be that you aren't as confident on the side that baby doesn't like. I'm right handed and I struggled FOR WEEKS to feed DD on my right boob. It was because I wasn't very good at that side, baby wasn't as comfortable.

Have you tried a different feeding position? I struggled with the normal cradling position on my right boob and had to use the "rugby ball" position for weeks and weeks to get used to feeding on that side. I had to put DD on a pillow along side me and do it that way.

I won't lie it took me weeks to get used to it, but believe me it happens eventually. I was going to give up breast feeding at week 3 because I was struggling, but now 13 weeks later I can walk around whilest feeding on either side, or feed while I'm having dinner, things I never thought I would be able to do!

Try a different position if you haven't already and just keep offering your LO the boob, she will get used to it eventually! :)

Hmm my first thought would be let down is too fast.. if so itll just take her a few weeks to get the hang of it :) or it could be the heat especially as your bodies will be sharing bosy heat. Are you engorged? That was a problem i had and had to express a small amount off for a little while so dd could latch easier. Or maybe as your new milk has com in and coloatrom has gone shes juat adjusting to a new consiatency/taste? Or could you possibly ve blocking her nose with your boob making it difficult for her to breath? (i did that). Is she chesty or wheezy as if she still has fluid stuck in her airways from the delivery? youll both gwt the hang of it soon. Keep going youre doing great! It can be very frustrating at times but its so worth it! xx

She seems to drink much better with no fussing of a morning when I am slightly engorged than throughout the day when I am soft and squishy. I have been holding my boob for the feeding so I don't squash her nose. I don't think she sounds wheezy it may be my let down but she hasn't choked or anything so I don't know. Thanks Hun x

It could be that she's frustrated then! She may like her milk to come fast as it probably is quicker when you're engorged! But as she gets older shell learn how to draw the milk down quicker and more efficiently :) x

My LO also does this, my health visitor said to try different positions while nursing but I haven't tried it yet to see if it makes a difference.

I have this problem the last few days a bit. Im trying different positions at d moment.

We have worked out that she has the start of silent reflux after a week of being very fussy to the point she wouldn't drink at all for a few days. My supply has been affected and I now hardly have any milk and I'm having to top up with formula as I can't bloody pump anything out of my useless boobs for the life of me =( and she won't take the boob if nothing is coming out =( she is now on losec for the reflux which has already helped after just 1 dose but she seems worse on BM than formula. I don't know what to do about my supply as I already had a low one and now it's almost completely gone. I have been taken fenugreek an eating lots of oats but nothing is helping. I'm at a loss

Hey mummyof2,

I'm glad u found out what d problem was at least. I can't help u tho. My own supply seems low as baby not gaining weight. I did read on here about pumping for 10 minute intervals with a ten minute break in between three times each side. Not sure if it works, haven't tried it.

Sorry cant help u:hugs:

If i think that Fox is getting a bit frustrated with a boob being too slow for his liking then i give it a few squeezes to encourage the milk down. That usually calms him down.

I have tried this =( my supply is almost gone even with medication from the doctors making lactation cookies and pumping every hour to get nothing out and then sterilising bottles making up formula and breast feeding I am totally exhausted and so depressed my boobs can't do what they are supposed to =( I'm stuck at what to do =(

I'm having the same issue. The lactation consultant I spoke with told me that some babies prefer one side to the other. at about 3 and a half weeks he is getting better on the right side, but still fussy and pulls off a lot more than the left side. I am hoping he will grow out of it!
