As the title says...i just wish i knew why lo has suddenly started sleeping terribly. He had just started to get a bit better waking maybe twice or only once a night. Now he can barely manage an hour, and he wakes up inconsolable, :( it's starting to upset me as i don't know how to help or what is wrong.

1. He eats well and has a bottle before bed, so he's not hungry. I've wondered if it's tummy ache from all the different food he's eating, or trapped wind?

2. Seperation anxiety? He has been very clingy recently..as in i can't leave the room without tears.

3.he has been ill, but is better now maybe he's just a bit unsettled still?

4.development leap? not sure...

Has this happened to you? any ideas what i can do? I'm really not a fan of sleep training, he just gets too upset.

Any other ideas? what could have happened? it's not teeth at the moment either.

The first thing that popped in to my mind was night terrors. I don't have any experience personally but did a quick Google search and found out that it's completely normal.

Hope this helps. x

I was thinking along the same lines. My dd slept through the night for months then around 13 mo was waking multiple times. I put in a dull night light and she's slept through since then no problem.... If they are waking up at night due to nightmares the light may help with the scary dark....

My daughters been like this recently I think it's a combo of recent injections and also getting her back teeth through x

It sounds a lot like separation anxiety and maybe thrown off still from being unwell. When my daughter was unwell recent even when she was better she was waking up crying all night and we had to do controlled crying after four nights she started sleeping through again until recently. Now it's teething. If it's not one things it's another! X
