As title says my 14 month old dd won't sit in her stroller anymore...she wants to walk. I feel like she's still new to walking and really has no control over what direction she's going. I don't feel comfortable letting her walk in a crowded place.

Is this likely to be a phase or do some little ones just refuse to sit in a stroller after they've learned to walk?

It's a phase. It started around 8 months for us (couldn't walk, but refused the stroller) and then we hit the phase where she HAD to walk (about where you are). Then when the novelty wore off, she didn't want to walk at all. Eventually, we were able to ease her back into stroller use.

DD refused the stroller once she learned to walk, and will not sit in it no matter what. She either walks, or hubby carries her up on his shoulders.

My lo is the same! I let him push the stroller everywhere!

I hope it's a phase and it passes soon but for us my LO started this around the same age but by 16 months he'd scream and arch his back whenever I put him in the stroller. He is 2 next month and he still will not go in it. I even tried a few weeks ago buying a cheap umbrella stroller ... nope he wants to walk or I carry him.

It's really not easy!

I am actually selling my bugaboo now because I have completely given up on trying to get him in there, he actually seems distressed when I try.

DD is the same as your little one Felix. Arches her back, screams, and just won't go in it.

I guess I'll know more in the next few months. Maybe I should hold out on purchasing a 2nd stroller for new baby in case he just ends up using his sister's.

We're planning on taking an overseas trip in August and we do walk a lot more during travels. I don't think she would be able to cope with the distances!

Definitely a phase. Dd1 was walking at 9 months and by 11 monthd refused her buggy. She didnt go in it until about 20 months...then she kept asking to be carried as the novelty had worn off so we got the buggy back out. It was annoying as we then thought we better order a double buggu for dd2 arriving...and of course now she hates it again lol xx

My youngest is the same! Not as bad as some of your LO but after about ten minutes he does scream to get out. I have no problem if he wants to walk but he walks in random directions, sits down on the floor etc and generally gets in everyone's way. I'm worried someone is going to trample on him.
At the moment I'm giving him dummy when he gets fed up and just trying not to go anywhere where I expect him to be in the pram for long. It's hard!! He also won't hold my hand!!

I really hope it's a phase that won't last! She also does go in random directions sometimes as pp said. I can't imagine running errands at her speed! It'll take a long time!

My DS is the same, he's just turned 14 months. Screams and arches his back every time. Took me 39 mins to get him in the other day so we could all home from nursery! I find him more amenable to being carried than the pushchair though if that's any help to you. Easier to pop him in and out and let him walk when it's appropriate for short amounts of time too.

Mine went through this phase too, though I baby wore a lot so that maybe didn't help. I just always put the carrier in the pram as a back up.

It got worse when she had tonsillitis about 18m and wanted carried only by me when out but with me being pregnant it wrecked my back so we had to sort it.

Thankfully around that time we bought a stroller for a holiday which she really liked plus we bribed her with treats when in the pram. I found by only using the pram to go to nice places like the park for a while she learned to associate it as being a good thing before we introduced more boring trips.

Good luck, fingers crossed its just a phase
