18 week skull theory - ultrasound frustration! UPDATE

I had my anatomy scan today, my doctor promised that at this ultrasound place that they would tell me the gender. Welp that's not their policy! So disappointed Although the tech that I got was very nice, and she told me that when she went to check for gender (they will put it in the doctor's report atleast) that she wasn't even sure. She said there isn't any testicles, but can't say if that's because they haven't dropped or it's a girl. Shouldn't the testicles have descended around now? I thought boy parts should be clear at this point anyways sorry for rambling lol here are the photos what do you guys think?

I'm sorry hun. I had my gender scan at 14.5 weeks with my ds and he was clearly boy with scrotum and penis. And your much further than I was at that stage. I'd say if she didn't see boy parts then your probably having a girl. Is there a private ultrasound place around you that you could go for gender determination?

That's what I was thinking! It's do frustrating as I'm such an impatient person lol, there is a place here that I can go for a private scan and I think I may be doing that asap!

I looked up when testes would start dropping in utero on Google and got a few different answers, but most state between 18-22wks, and sometimes not until 6-7 months. Some boys can go earlier, some later. I know my co-worker thought she was having a girl up until month 7 because they thought the penis was actually a swollen clitoris, and because the testes hadn't descended. On an ultrasound you could still see the sack though if what I'm reading is correct. Again, it's just from Google, so it might not even be correct info!

But lack of testes right now might not indicate female just yet. Was this a regular check up or a private scan? I hope you get some answers! I'm going nuts not having a confirmed potty shot.

This was just a regular check up, so frustrating though seeing all these ladies finding out as early as 14 weeks sometimes and I'm a very very impatient person lol. We have a private gender scan booked for the 6th though!
