TMI & I apolgise. Just got back from maternity, I've been feeling 'wet' down there for a few days, today has been worst so I phoned maternity they wanted me to come to get checked, when I got there midwife checked my pad, said was not urine, and pad was clear so no discharge.. but it didn't smell sweet meaning water...

Soo.. I had the speculum done, they said if my waters were leaking i'd have a pocket off water near my cervix, but my cervix is long & closed.

They did swabs, no infections and everything looked normal.
They said would be down to increased watery discharge, wouldn't it be just 'damp' not soaking? especially a hour?

I don't even know what im asking myself, im just looking for some reassurance has anyone been in this situation? Im just going to try & rest but I cant help but worry and because im still so early!!

Not personally been in that situation but had a big increase on discharge from about 20 weeks....what have they advised you to do? If they have checked and it's not your waters that's really reassuring :)

Have you got your 20 week scan coming up? Get them to check your fluid levels, well, they should anyway, but hopefully that will reassure you a little. I've been leaking waters since 26+2 (31 weeks today) and my cervix has been long and closed throughout, also my last speculum exam showed no visible fluid at that time but I am still leaking on and off. Good luck, hopefully it's just discharge, but if you're still not happy get a second opinion :hugs:

It's watery discharge, trusts.

I went to maternity with the exact same problem. Thought I was leaking! Checked me out and they said it was just watery discharge. My panties would be soaked, it was so gross. Some people just get watery discharge and with this hot weather it only makes sense.

That was my first pregnancy, and with this one I'm 14 weeks and it's already begun!

I know how you feel as even though they told me I wasn't leaking I still worried. If you were they'd be able to tell you. If you're still concerned see if you can get an U/S done for peace of mind? That'd tell you if the fluid levels were decreasing.

I'm having the exact same problem and I'm pretty close to you. I had a scan yesterday and they said my fluid looked great for now. Hopefully you get more reassurance :flower:

I'm having the same problem, literally just took my underwear off (I'm in bed lol) because they were soaked!

Getting a bit annoying!

You would know if it's fluid, it has a smell all of its own, not pleasant xx

I would push for a scan to double check....not trying to scare you but I soaked through my underwear at 20 weeks and my doctor also put it off as discharge. I eventually went to the ER and had a scan and I have no fluid around baby now. My water broke, I am on bed rest in the hospital until I deliver. Again, I'm not trying to scare you. I just had to learn the hard way. If your still worried I would push for more. I regret not pushing for more answers.

Oh and I've been leaking and gushing for 4 weeks and mine has no distinct odor. I can't tell a difference so DO NOT go by that!

Really, mine smells very odd, but no infection or anything, I guess everyone is different. I second pushing for more answers!

When is your anomaly scan due? If it is soon then you can probably wait until then, if not you might want to get an US done just to check the fluid levels around your baby. Hopefully it is just increased discharge but you want to be safe.

I've noticed if suddenly get a wave of 'wet' down there to the point it took me a little by surprise.
I may mention this at my scan tomorrow as I assumed it was just discharge, and I've been feeling baby wiggle and kick around fine.

If you're still worried is check for more info but it's good that you went to get it tested to make sure it wasn't!

I'm suffering with the same problem at the moment and it's very annoying. I'm 100% certain it's just an increase in discharge as I've had it in all my pregnancies. I'm using panty liners, but even they don't last long :(

I have a 'wet' feeling down there, had the same with my first pregnancy too.
This time round I phoned the hospital for some advice and was told to come into delivery suite (scary)! This was 2 weeks ago. The doctor took some swabs and I had a scan. Fluid looked normal in the scan, no amniotic fluid detected on the swab, but swab came back saying I have thrush. I haven't had thrush before, but I assume that's what causing the extra discharge that I was worried about.
