19 and pregnant?

Hey all,

I'm new here, and think I might be pregnant (well okay enough with the obvious). I haven't had a period in over 2 months, but the thing was, I was a few days late last month before my boyfriend and I did anything, so that's what confuses me. I know that I get sharp pains in the belly area, my back kinda hurts, it kind of tingles "down there", and my boobs aren't sore, but I can feel them more, ya know?

My boyfriend is 25 and lives about 3 hours away from me, and he is driving all the way down Tuesday to take me to a doctor, since I can't afford copay. I'll find out for sure then.

I would tell my mom that I think I'm pregnant, I really want to, but my family is a strict, old-fashioned, Catholic family. So if they even know I was intimate I'd get the shaft. I know she'd be pissed off at me if I was pregnant...

I was really scared this past week, but now I guess I've come to terms with it. At first I didn't think I was pregnant, but now I can't help but think I am. What do you guys think from what I told you? I know you aren't doctors, and can't give me a definite yes or no, and that I need to take a test for that. I guess I was just wondering if maybe I was just crazy for thinking this since I'm not getting many symptoms...

Hey sweetheart, firstly welcome to BnB. I don't think anyone would be able to tell you a yes or no hun, only thing you can do is test. Sometimes we have longer cycles for unknown reasons, and I got pregnant 2 days before my period was due. some people even get pregnant whilst having their period, so it really is a difficult one to say hun. Sometimes we just miss periods completely thought due to stress or unknown reasons sometimes. The only real way to tell is by testing. Whatever the result though hun we'll be here for you x

Yep it confuses me too!!

You havent had a period in over 2 months but last month you didnt have sex until after your period was late?

So you were already over a month late before you had unprotected sex? If so then did you have unprotected sex in the month leading up to when your first period was late?

We had sex about 1 week after my missed period.

Basically, I was due for my period July 21st, and we had sex August 2nd.

Besides that, no, there's no possible way I could have been pregnant before that.

Hmm, did you have anything stressing you out at all near your first missed period? I suppose it's possible that your first one was late just randomly and this one hasn't come because you got pregnant. Still...the first one might've come a bit later.. How odd.

Only thing you can do is test, obv. You seem pretty switched on. Despite the possible disapproval from your family, how would you feel if it turned out you were pregnant?

I would definatley say take a test, its the only way you'll get to the bottom of it!!

You never know it could be you worrying that your pregnant that has made you miss the next one if that makes sense!!

I started a new medication before the first one, only thing I could think of that could've made it late. But my doctor said it should only make it a week or two late, if at all.

As for if I was pregnant, I'm not really positive what we'd do, but I'd think we'd keep the baby. All I know is that there is no way in the world that I would have an abortion.

I haven't really worried about it until the pass three days, and it hasn't been intense worry, just you know, wondering. Does that make sense? I try not to stress to much about it, simply because I know it can cause false symptoms.


I'm going to the gynecologist Tuesday, mainly because if I'm not pregnant SOMETHING is causing me to be 2 months late. And with my copay for insurance, it works out cheaper to just see her, since regardless I would have to anyway.

I promised my boyfriend I wouldn't. He wants us to be together when I find out, mainly because if it turns out I am, he know it'll be hard to keep it from my mom, and that we'd want to know what we were going to do before we told anyone.

I started to get really sharp pains in my side tonight, to the point that I couldn't hide it from my mom. She wants to take me to HER doctor now, but she doesn't know that I think I could be pregnant. She knows I'm keeping something from her though, so maybe she suspects, I have no idea.

She doesn't want my boyfriend to come with us though...I wish I could afford a test and just take it....

There should be clinics where you live that will give you a free preggo test, I have a ton of free clinics that give free tests, And if you are pregnant you should be watching on those sharp pains could be an ectopic pregnancy, not to scare you but make sure k I had an ectopic and it sucked!

oh God, I'd die if it was an ectopic pregnancy...there is no bright side on that one....

Sorry to sound blunt, but take a test or get to the doctors asap, an ectopic pregnancy can be very serious the longer you leave it!!
Even mild stress or worry can make you late or even a medical problem.
I could go up to 3 months without a period due to medica problems.

With the pains sweet I'd try and seek medical advice ASAP as like the other ladies have said, if you are and it is eptopic the sooner you get seen to the better. hope you're okay xXx

Have you taken a test yet? As sammie said, there should be a clinic near you where you'll be able to get a free test x
