I don't get it, my dr told me to book my apt where I always go, or where I went for my other 5 pregnancies. They booked me in for my 1st visit on feb 1st!! I didnt really figure it out, but Ill be around 27 weeks! She was a bitch too, new secretary there cuz I know the voices well of the other ones.

Do you think going that late in pg is normal?

How far away is this clinic, can you show up in person and ask to speak to someone else? 1 February is NUTS and totally wrong.

Okay so I know very little about how things work where you live, but seriously, they want to see you when you are more than halfway done with your pregnancy? I think there might be a mistake.

Last time I started with the maternity clinic I was about 12 weeks. Here, our family dr will do the early prenatal like sending us for bw and tests, but he doesnt deliever the baby. Usually, ppl go to mat clinic every 4 weeks, then at 28 weeks its every 2 weeks, then at 32(?) weeks its once a week. So, right off Ill be going every 2 weeks? I feel like Im not going to be getting decent prenatal care! I'd look for another clinic but these dr's I know well, they were all a big part of my other pregnancy/deliveries.

I would call and ask for one of the doctors to return your call and then ask him/her what to do. 27 weeks is WAY too late to see them for the first time, IMO.

They won't let me speak to one of the drs unless its an emergency, then they'd let me talk to a nurse, or tell me to go to l&d at the hospital.

No, the clinic really isnt that far from me, maybe a 10 min drive.

Im looking into hiring a midwife right now, but they're so hard to get!! Very limited here!
