Anyone else had 2 consecutive breech babies?

My son was breech and was a ELCS and so far this baby is breech too. What are the chances of having two breech babies?

I'm desperate for a VBAC

I am in the exact same position! DS was undetected breech and ended up with an emcs after being induced for 4 days. I went to see MW yesterday and she thinks this LO may be breech too. I have a scan on Monday so will find out for sure then and hopefully discuss my options.

There is still plenty of time for LO to turn at this stage though isn't there?

I thought there was only 5% chance, my girl was breech too, I had to have a C-section, so far it would appear she is head down but I cant confirm that till next week xx

Oh dear, my daughter was breech and I'm hoping for a VBAC this time, so I seriously hope the odds of two breech babies in a row are very low!

My midewife did think that this one was head down at my last sppointment, but then they thought my daughter was head down up until the last minute last time, when they realised it was her head they were feeling, and not her bum!

When the MW said this LO was breech, she did say it does happen with some women but she didn't use any kind of statistics to say what the chances are or anything.

This LO was head down at my 28 week scan and I feel her moving quite often, like she is rolling over etc so I am hoping she goes back down again.

My LG was extended breech and this one I think is flex breech, I say think cause although the MW could determine head up she couldn't tell where the limbs were, but from what I feel it's more flex than Tessa was.

This baby has never been, head down and neither was Tessa. My MW wondered if I have a bicornuate womb, or heart shaped, which tends to present with breech babies. But it's not very often detected on ultra sound.

Next thursday I will have my 36 week check and if baby is still palpated breech then she will send me for a presentation scan and book me in for a C-Section.

I wanted a home birth :dohh:

My DD was undetected breech (found out 12 hours into labour), little feet up by her ears. Obviously EMCS followed. My DS was head down though if it makes you feel any better. Still had a c section though.

My 2nd baby was breech, and my 3rd baby was as well. My doctor said that it's quite common with the more kids you have. Also once you've had a breech baby, the likelihood of having another breech baby is very high.
I had an ELCS with my 3rd baby a week ago, but only because I'm not a candidate for a vbac. However I was still set on turning my baby head down for the surgery.
With the help Of my chiropractor doing the Webster method to tun baby, my son was successfully head down for my csection:) so all this to say, see a chiropractor, and get on your hands and knees washing your kitchen floor which will get baby in a head down position. If you are wanting a vbac, try all these things and I'm sure baby will turn;)

I wonder what determines the position then. I often wonder whether i've an odd shaped womb, but surely something would have been said.

I'm more sad because apparently once you've had 2 sections then you can only ever have sections - even if a 3rd/4th baby presented head down. I'd love to experience labour just once.

My chiropractor explained that there are ligaments that stretch like bands across the uterus. If they are really tight at the bottom of the uterus than it's impossible for baby to actually move head down. He did the Webster method, which just means he applies a bit of pressure at a trigger point beside the pelvis and it slowly releases allowing the ligaments to relax and baby to move head down. My first adjustment I almost went thru the roof in pain, and he barely even touched that spot. So just goes to show how tight it was. Had my last adjustment the day before my csection, an I physically felt baby shift. It was awesome. It was an easier csection because he was head down. So I highly recommend finding a chiropractor that specializes in this Webster method. That way you can attempt a vbac!!!
I totally understand that disappointment of not getting a natural birth. Hugs

Thankyou, i'm definitely going to look into it. x
