2 days of spotting normal?

This is my first cycle off of being on birth control for 13 years. I have no idea what a normal cycle should be like for me. The first day of my cycle was 7/14/15. It only lasted 2 days, but this was normal for me on bc. On cd 15 I had lots of cramping and 1 very large brown "spot" when I wiped (sorry) none the rest of the day and none the next day. Today on cd 17, I had it again, exactly the same! I've been having light cramping off and on during the entire cycle so far. Since this is my first real cycle and I'm still figuring this out, I haven't been keeping a good records of symptoms etc. After stalking this forum, the first day I assumed it was just normal for ovulation. Now I'm really confused!

Could possible be hormones still regulating. I did that coming off the Depo shot

Yeah, I wondered if it might be. I hope it is ovulation spotting, I keep wondering if AF is coming super early. I check a million times a day! Do you know if you were ovulating when this happened to you? I was on the the pill if that makes any difference.
