Question one. Do you get any ultrasounds past the 20 week scan in a normal pregnancy? US, btw.

Question two. I'm 25 weeks, and while I did move houses today I didn't lift any boxes I shouldn't have or do anything too strenuous. However sitting at lunch my right side rib started hurting. And its been hurting ever since then but mostly when I sit. Is it just babygirl getting bigger and something ill have to deal with from here on out or what?

i've gotten scan after my 20 week mark, and sonograms im 31 weeks and 4 days and i am still getting sonograms and i live in US, so you should but it depends on your OB:)

and its most likely little girl getting bigger and something you have to deal with, i have to deal with it to so your not alone:)

I would realllly love to get another scan. At my next appointment ill ask about it. Thanks. :) &if that's the case ill gladly take the pain and discomfort. She's worth every ache. Thanks again. :)

From what I understand you shouldn't get one after your 20 unless you have complications. DD developed a heart arrhythmia when I was pregnant so I got a scan every week after week 30 but if she hadn't my 20w scan would have been my last.

I would assume that it would be LO pushing up on your ribs. With DD I started to have rib pains around 20-21 weeks.

your welcome:) yeah its a little uncomfortable at first but you get used to it or if you sometimes gently push or rub on her a bit she might for you so its not as painful anymore because she moved out of the way:) no problem :)

I think I heard that too, but wasn't sure if it depended on the drs or not. Id rather her be healthy, so as long as she is and you're correct about the scans, ill be waiting a while to see her. Ill still ask my dr, though. Just to be sure. Thanks. :) and yeah, after a while I decided it was most likely her. It was just weird how sudden it hit me.

I will definitely be trying that. :)

My rib used to kill me, that was little girl. She eventually cracked it because she was pressed up against it and kicked really hard, and that was the only ultrasound I got after 20 weeks, they had to make sure my organs were okay and look at my rib, and the lady was really nice because she was also a young mother and she let me look at LO. :cloud9:

I have my last ultrasound scheduled for next week and I'll be past 37 weeks. I think it really just depends on your doctor. Mine I think I pressured into giving me another. :haha:

Your ribs could be hurting from your LO pressing up against them. I know mine loves to kick up there and press her butt up into them. It could also be just an ache from doing activity.

Ouch! Well atleast you got to see her again before she made her appearance. Maybe that was her plan.. lol.

Maybe ill have to try the same with my doctor, lol. You and baby are healthy otherwise?

Thank you. :)

It does depend on your doctor and if there are any complications. I had a completely normal pregnancy with no complications and I had 2 ultrasounds after my 19 week scan. One at 27 weeks but that one wasnt thru my dr, I paid for a 3D ultrasound, but my dr sent me for a growth scan at 34 weeks to check babys weight and position. I am in Canada tho.
And that definately sounds like its your baby thats hurting your ribs, its completely normal I wouldnt worry about it, shes starting to grow fasst around now.

Yep the doctor hasn't had any concerns! She's just making it into a growth scan. Lol good luck!

That's wonderful! Thank you, :)

Usually none after the 20 week scan. Unless there is a reason. Such as a problem that shows up during 20 week scan, pregnancy complication (EX:gestational diabetes, high blood pressure),if they think baby might be breech, if your measuring big, or small(growth scan) So it's not hard to get an extra scan in there! LOL
