So much so that I sometimes think she's not even eating any. I know she is because of her wet & dirty nappies but I really don't know how much due to the dribbling.

Is this normal & is there anything I can do to help her? She's on timer tippee closer to nature bottles with size 1 teats, she has between 3-4oz each time every 3-4 hours. I've tried sitting her up to eat, lying down, stopping every minute or so to clean her & burp her.

Also, unless I tilt her basket when I put her down she brings up some milk too, doesn't really seem to make any difference how long I hold her upright for.

Any advice/help would be appreciated. I just feel so sorry for her :sad2:

thanks
xx

Hiya does the milk seem to be coming out too fast?
when your little one dribbles is it milk from sides of her mouth?

Some babies are just sicky unless its lots of sick i wouldn't worry. has your Lo been sick often since birth. if so it could be the milk that is causing it. x

It does seem to be coming out of the sides and down her chin. It looks like it's coming out too fast but they are size 1 teats which I thought are the smallest?

& she's been sick a couple of times but mainly just a bit of spit up, it's when she's feeding it just doesn't seem to stay in her mouth before she swallows x

Mine does this sometimes. She ususally needs to burp a lot more. Once I get a couple of good burps out of her then she latches on the right way. She also has reflux so she spits up quiet often. You might try a different brand of bottle and see if that helps. Not all size 1 nipples are created the same. They vary by brand. As an example the walmart brand parents choice size one's seem to be much harder than my Dr browns nipples that are size one. My daughter can even get the stay down thicker formula out of the dr browns bottles but not the walmart kind. may take a little trial and error.

I have the same issue and it was way worse before. I use Dr. Brown's bottle and was using the stage 1 nipples but I looked into it and they have preemie nipples that have an even slower flow than the size 1, so I got those and it solved the problem most of the way. She was still dribbling out of the corners of her mouth but not nearly as bad. She's much better now that she's a bit older/bigger but she still gets a little lazy and will have a dribble line out of one corner lol. I just always keep a cloth diaper (I use them as burp cloths) tucked under her chin when she eats so the neck of her clothes stays dry. They outgrow this eventually, just in time to eat solids and make an even bigger mess lol.

Thanks for the advice girls, popped into town today & picked up 2 dr browns bottles, so far so good, she's much calmer eating & doesn't splutter or gag :happydance:

just wish I'd bought more than 2 now... Ah well another trip to town tomorrow it is lol!

xx
