20 weeks, 97the percentile?

I think the measurement at 20 weeks is not a good indicator of birth weight. Both of my son's measured 50%, so exactly averagec at their 20 week scans and both were fairly large babies (my first was 8lb 14oz and my second was 9lb 6oz). I didn't have late ultrasounds with my first, but with my second I had a couple ultrasounds in my 3rd tri because of his presentation (ended up being footling breech). At 35w he was estimated to weigh 7lb 6oz and 8lb 10oz at 37w 5d, he was born at 39w 1d and weighted 9lb 6oz, so the two latae ultrasounds were very accurate!

I haven't had it this way round but DS measured just under the 50th% at my 20 weeks scan, he was above the 97th% at birth. They have a lot of growing time between 20 weeks and birth, lots of time to even out or catch up!
I just wanted to say try not to worry too much as it isn't always accurate. My fundal height measured 2-3 weeks behind until 38 weeks and the midwife said my baby felt long and skinny so she didn't think baby would be a big one....at 40+3 out popped my 9lb 11oz baby who is on the top percentile for length and the second top for weight!

DH and I were shocked when he came out because he was so small, and now take every u/s measurement with a HUGE grain of salt.

My little one was estimated at 98% (10lb12oz) but came out at 9 lbs 1.5oz....thank heavens!
