21 weeks pregnant and told I have a soft cervix?

I was told this. I thought a cervix is supposed to be soft but maybe not?

Anyone else have a soft cervix? It's also long, high and closed, so I'm hoping the softness isn't anything bad.

I had a small bout of spotting too but I think that was from exercising too much. I've since stopped exercising and moving much at all to see if that helps. (it was only 2x, a drop or two each time)

Sorry I don't know facts about this - but really they should have explained more clearly what it MEANS to have a soft cervix.

The ONLY thing I can think of is like a cervical ectropian, which I have. I've also had it described as 'soft' so it may be the same thing. All it means is that some of the cervical cells are growing on the outside as well. And, practically, it means that I'm more likely to spot (e.g. after a smear test or BD) BUT it has NOOOO danger or negative implications for carrying pregnancy.
